Problem when using share-To-Folder (some images get resized)

Post by flaviocu »

Hi

I'm trying to export all images of a collection I made. The export itself works fine. However, the images from one camera (only) get automatically resized to 1260x1680 (from 3684x2736). I have checked that the resize function is disabled, and images from a different camera in the same collection get exported just fine.

This even happens when I only export the single image. Any ideas?

See the attached screenshot for details and PS Version.

Thank you and kind regards

Could it be that these are RAW files from a camera has doesn't store full sized embedded previews? What camera model is it?

I doubt it, these are JPGs from a Nikon Coolpix S31 (Kids camera, I doubt it even does RAW). As you can see from the screenshot, PS recognizes the correct size....

And is "force the use of embedded previews" on or off in the profile?

I'm unable to select this tab on share-copy-to-folder (see screenshot).

Ah, that's because sizing is off.

When you don't use sizing then the original file is copied, the file isn't even loaded. Maybe the file reference doesn't exist? Does Shift-F on such an image show the file on the file system?

Ah, now we're getting closer. Shift-F says file not found or medium not loaded!
After manually "linking" the file to the correct file, everything works as it should. Thank you very much!

However that leads me to a next question. How do I find all unreferenced files? And how to correct them (ideally in a batch run)?

Click on FOLDERS (above the Catalog Tree)
If there is a red folder icon then that means that root can't be found.
For these red folders, right click on the root and select "Map to the correct physical folder"

FYI; an image is identified by the disk's serial number, disk volume name, disk type (internal or external), file path, file name. If any of these are changed then the reference is no longer valid. For instance, when you replace a hard drive and you do a restore then volume name, disk type and all the rest will be the same, but the drive's serial number will be different. You then need to re-map.

Great, that did it, my whole library was "unmapped" :) Most likely due to a disk change on the NAS. Anyway, thank you very much for your help.
