QUESTION: what is your nr1 reason to use Photo Supreme

I am starting to digitize a lifetime of family photos. I have just started using Photo Supreme, and I am hoping my library will be 'future proof'.

The open nature of this product ought to let me catalog my photos in a way that will still have value 20 years from now, using newer software on a newer OS.

(I'll post again in 20 years, with the results.)

in short because it's the Dam software period there is no rivals , i came from iview ,photosupreme v2 it's the right successor

nr1 reason:

the ability to find photos using keyboards ,labels to print or send or upload in my ftp server , in short the search feature

Most important features:
1. Hierarchical label management system.
2. The fastest tool for label assignment on the market.
3. MSSQL database - backup management and ability to do some batch actions in the database directly.

Benefits - ability to do complex selections based on people, event etc. and it is not important where images is stored on the disk.

I can't decide whether versioning or portfolios (now that custom sorting is possible) is more important to me.

Hi, I've just started using Photo Supreme to organise and catalog my writing / digital art project.

On the one hand I need to organise large-scale digital artworks (Photoshop 500mb to 1gb files) into categories, and keep track of incremental save versions, as well as print or web-ready file versions.

I also need to work with a collection of images (5000+) used for reference material which comprises of images saved from the web, scanned images, camera imports etc. all catalogued and labelled.

Up until now (past 10 years or so) I've been using an old version of ACDSee to catalogue my files. I am finding it quite difficult to work out a good workflow with PSu on account of the Folders View not being a full media browser like ACDsee was, since my images are spread out in amongst many other files (website folders / Illustrator / inDesign etc). It's a steep learning curve, but for cataloguing images, the clarity of the PSu interface is fantastic! And I saw that image stacking may be in a future release, which I'm really looking forward to, as versioning is great but doesn't quite suit my needs.

On the whole though it's a fantastic piece of software.

Past the trial and bought a license. Items that convinced me:

- multi user support, or in other words accessing from different laptops and users the same catalog.
- key working / labeling so / metadata handling
- speed.
- ability to not import duplicates even when they were renamed during the previous import.

I'm Using a NAS with all my pictures and videos and a Mac mini as the db server with Postgres and Mac books as workstations and it works fine even over wifi with a +100 k image catalog ( and counting)

Now that I gave up Aperture, I didn't want to compromise anymore. Multi user, db based with good key wording and metadata support. A powerful tool although an intuitive simple interface so My family can also find their pictures.

Still have to get used to the interface but that's just a matter of time.

Ease of catalog labelling.

Easiest/quickest product for labeling out there, hands down.

I used IDimager Pro for almost 7 years and I was very satisfied with the product. In fact, I was so satisfied with it, that I waited to jump to the PSU-boat for quite some years. I've tested the first versions (1 and 2) of PSU, but I was not satisfied with it. In 2015, IDimager Pro was getting severe performance problems, so I had to convert to other software. PSU V3 was the only serious candidate, because of easy conversion possibilities (same supplier).

After using PSU intensively for a month, I'm not as happy with it as I was with ID Imager Pro, but I don't have a good alternative that can be quickly implemented. So that's my nr 1 reason.

Importing and keywording, i haven't found a better tool yet. Well for import equals can be found, but not for keywording. However i no longer use photo supreme for culling or viewing the photos. With 4K screen everything is either blurry (forced scaling) or tiny.

Atleast external viewer can be launcher from photo supreme, so portfolios and albums are still useful. Still i am on the fence if that should be done in mylio, due sync to the tablet and interface is focused more towards viewing the photos.

Importing: organizing files by dates and camera name, extracting technical data, assigning some labels and keywords - all at once!

I'm thinking about becoming a Photo Supreme user. If I do, it will be because it looks like the best option for a happy Windows Photo Gallery user to adopt. Now, if I could only find a white paper with title: "How to seamlessly transition from WPG to Photo Supreme", I'd be sold!
