Hello,
I'm still in trouble with the full size viewer. It seems that I can achieve real 1:1 rendering only with RAW files, not with JPEG.
I try to summarize how this occurred:
- images were shot as RAW (NEF) + JPEG
- images were imported with JPEG as the main version
- both NEF and RAW have the same pixel dimensions: 4926x3262
- the option "Load full size images" was enabled
--> when I show the image full screen and left-click in a point of it I'm able to get a real 1:1 enlargement only with the NEF ! The JPG version is enlarged as well but not as much to get a real full-size view (it looks about 50% of a full size view).
Another issue (likely related to the previous one) is the % shown in the full screen view: 66% for the JPEG version, 33% for the NEF. But both images are displayed in the same size! Left-clicking on the images the caption shows 100% in both cases, but (as highlighted above) only the NEF is really 100%.
Of course, opening the images with other applications (Picture Window Pro, Fast Picture Viewer, ...) I get a correct full-size view, with 1 pixel of the image = 1 pixel of the screen.
Moreover, after a while trying to switch between the two versions I started getting a message "Access violation (0)". No crash occurred, but I had to exit PSU and restart it to stop getting this message.
Kind regards,
Maurizio
Still confused with "load full size image"
Re: Still confused with "load full size image"
Can anyone else confirm this?
Also, you are in online mode? And the image exists on the file system?

Re: Still confused with "load full size image"
I was also unable to reproduce that, hence why it's still open. Did you ever provide a full re nef+jpg to test that? You can attach those to the ticket

Re: Still confused with "load full size image"
I have tested it with NEF, TIFF, JPG, PNG files, including NEF and JPG versions of the same photo, converted by PSU, the camera and ViewNX2, with the same results.
Could you please repeat the lighttable test described in the report but now at 100% zoom? Apparently LT was set to default zoom when you took your screenshot (3359_3360_Compared.jpg). That would explain why you were unable to see the problem.

Re: Still confused with "load full size image"
Hi Hert,
yes, I am in online mode. I always work in online mode.
Images are in the file system, I was able to open them in other applications and view them full size.
More information, maybe could help:
* I tried with other images (JPEG + NEF) and the problem still occurs.
* Images have been shot with a Nikon D5100 and imported from the SD card. No editing or metadata manipulation was done.
* PSU version is 1.8.0.119 (64bit), installed on Windows 7

Re: Still confused with "load full size image"
Thank you Maurizio. Could it be that this only happens for images inside a version set? Are yours in a version set?

Re: Still confused with "load full size image"
Yes. The version set is created on import: JPEG is the main version.

I used Nikon D800 raw sample downloaded from:
http://img.photographyblog.com/reviews/ ... 800_01.nef
Converted to jpegs at various sizes with separate raw converter (not PSU).
Confirmed image sizes with XnView, Faststone etc.
Imported into PSU 1.8.0.119, no versioning and all remaining online.
Opened raw and 5 jpeg derivatives in light table.
Below are image dimensions of long side followed by displayed % size for fitted display ("A") with all 6 on LT simultaneously.
NEF (7360px) 6% (embedded preview)
JPEG 7360px ("Full") 22%
JPEG 3680px ("Half") 22%
JPEG 3359px 12%
JPEG 3360px 24%
JPEG 3361px 24%
Same result viewing individually in preview with load full size option enabled (EDIT "Same" = different %ages, but in same ratios).
Comparing full sized jpeg and half size jpeg at 100% in PSu makes them look the same size, (unlike the free image viewers).
There is a distinct x2 jump between 3359 and 3360, as judged by "% scale to fit box" or by appearance at 100%.
