Re-Read some Metadata from NEF not from XMP

Hert,

Over time I got images with messed up meta-data. I mean the technical stuff that PSU would never touch/alter, normally (lens info, focal length ect.)
The metadata is correct in the NEF file, but not in the XMP-sidecarfile.
So when I re-read, the metadata the xmp-file has priority - and because the focal lenght ect. is not correct written into the xmp-file it does not correct anything...

I would like to reread some of the meta data from the actual "not altered" NEF-File to correct the wrong data in the database.
However, I don´t want to have to catalog the images again...

Can you provide a way to do that?

Import to XMP is only available with a single file selected...
Is that on purpose? Would be neat if it would work with many files at once.

[EDIT: I need to do that for 2000+ images, so one image at a time would be very time consuming]

I think I know that already
I have thought about a script on selected images - because that issue might not concern everyone. I want to correct the"mess" that has most likely been created by some beta versions and not by official releases.

BTW: The way that multiple and single selected images are covered in the image details is inconsistent, and I have made a FR regarding this already. Maybe not that obvious but it would cover this too! The last one was 1333.

Read metadata just does not cover most of the problems my problems, only import to xmp - please make it possible to import to xmp for multiple files.

Maybe you need to delete all the progress usage but it should get you started.
