Difficulty deleting labels and keywords from images

Hello,

Perhaps I am doing something wrong, but I'm having difficulty deleting labels and delimited keywords from images. Sometimes when I try to delete a delimited keyword from the description panel by clicking the X to the right of the keyword string, it seems to work; but more often than not, it doesn't, and the program freezes. Is this the wrong procedure?

I've also tried deleting labels from the label assignment column, and that seems to work well enough, but it leaves the associated delimited keyword string attached to the image description.

Any advice someone might be able to provide on how to do this successfully would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe I am misunderstanding the problem but if you "delete" the catalog label from the image by using the Assign Panel and the Sync the image the "keywords" should be removed from the image details?

Hi Mike,

My apologies for just now getting back to this. I did originally do what you suggested above, but the results were inconsistent, i.e., sometimes the label-generated keywords were removed from the image, and sometimes not. In the cases where they were not, I tried removing the keywords from within the Keywords field in the Details, and sometimes it would work, but more often than not, the program would freeze.

I do always create the delimited keywords by using the Catalog Labels, but I'm not sure how to remove one of these labels from a single image, if it is also applied to other images and I want to maintain this connection to the other images. How do I do this?

Please could I ask you to do the following on a set of test images.

1. Assign some catalog labels using the Assign Panel
2. Select the Images - Right Click - Metadata - Save Metadata to file
3. Highlight on one of the images in the collection viewer
4. Open the Details Panel - View Advanced (Top Right Corner - the Three Horizontal Lines)
5. Check the Keywords in the Descriptions Section - they should tie up exactlky to the catalog labels you have assigned.
6. Close the Details
7. Open the Assign
8. De Assign the Labels (so they are not either Brown or Green )
9. Right Click the Image - Metadata - Save to File
10. Close the Assign and Open Details
11. Check the keywords under Description
