Reset file metadata after changing synchronization settings
I have struggled since "day 1" with the way other software reads metadata embedded by PSu. The method of selecting "labels" inside "categories" is super convenient, but SOME other software "double down" with adding the "flat" keywords AND a bogeyed up version of the hierarchal list. Apparently PSu ...

Re: Rorate thumbnails to left with "[" bracket rotates 180 degrees
Thanks Hert. I will dig into that. The images associated with this issue most recently are from a Sony RX100Va, so it may be camera specific. These images were first "seen" by PSu and not previously manipulated by other software.

Re: what does colored line under thumbnail represent
Thanks. This is extremely helpful to understand. I do not "ask" PSu to create stacks, but I do see it running during import as an activity. This may turn out to be useful now that I understand what it means.

Re: No export of HEIC metadata to xml
Thanks for the reply. Yes, I assumed that "Convert Metadata to XMP" does mean create an XMP file inside the same folder as the original file. If that is not what it is intended to do, then WHAT is it intended to do? I am happy to do as you recommend, however I have not found the "Repository" area ...

Re: Hours long synchronizing after writing metadata to all files
Thanks Hert....as additional info discovered after my original post, it became noticeable that it was the same folder of photos that was constantly being "worked" (thumbnail and synchro). I did finally cancel the process and when I reopened PSu, the process did not restart. I did a catalog compact ...

Hours long synchronizing after writing metadata to all files
As reported in a different post, I have been struggling with whether to "Write hierarchical keywords" in Synchronization settings. I finally opted to do this, and after making the change, I did a "write metadata to files" in all 58000 + photos. Then I did a folder verify (binary) to capture the ...

Keyword incompatibility with ON1 and Photo Mechanic
I have committed to PSu as my primary DAM and think it is superior to everything else I've tried...BUT...keywords written into xmp files are read by ON1 (and also Photo Mechanic 6+) as follows: A photo in PSu with keywords "2024" (under category "Years", keyword "Denver" (under Category "Places ...

Re: Categories being repopulated under Miscellaneous
YES...I think what was happening is that I was switching between PSu and ON1 and it was the apparent incompatibility of keyword metadata between the two that was altering what I was seeing in PSu.
I stabilized the issue by avoiding the use of ON1 (2025) on my main computer ( Mac Studio) to isolate ...

Categories being repopulated under Miscellaneous
Using macOS Sequoia / PSu build 2024.2.2.6668 (A 64bit)....Each time I open PSu, more of my Categories are appearing as ADDITIONAL categories under Miscellaneous. HEIF files metadata not read by other software
RECENTLY (perhaps after upgrade to macOS Sequoia) HEIC files from iPhone15Pro (and Fujifilm X-T5) seem to be handled by PSu normally except the "labels" (keywords) are not being stored in a manner readable by editing software (ON1_2025, Graphic Converter 12, and Apple Photos). Prior to macOS upgrade ...

Unable to save metadata to Oly TG5 files
This is ONLY happening (to my knowledge) with Olympus TG5 (tough) raw files. The user manual states that "ORF" files are supported, but perhaps not ALL of them. I can (and have) imported them into catalog with "keywords" assigned in earlier / other software. Those keywords are visible as expected in ...
