After turning on the Integrated Repository option, I can now see the triangle with the dropdown menu. Thanks Hert.
Running "Search Items without thumbs" turns up ~5K missing images. These are images that I removed outside of PhotoSupreme. What's the best way to handle this? Select All and then ...

Re: always builds thumbnails on startup -- 2024
> If the drop down triangle is missing its because your not connected to the Internet when PSU was started,
I'm connected now and still not seeing the triangle. I suspect this happens if you're not connected to the internet during installation.
Can you recommend some specific scripts?

Re: always builds thumbnails on startup -- 2024
Thank you for the reply, but I can't find either of the options you suggested.
Your screenshot shows a "+" icon for adding a new tab and a downward triangle which I'm guessing is how you invoked the "From Repository" menu. On my version of PhotoSupreme, I see the "+" but not the triangle.

always builds thumbnails on startup -- 2024
Every time I open PhotoSupreme 2024, it shows that it's rebuilding thumbnails. It seems like the same set each time (not all my images). I tried compacting the database to see if that would stop this, but the issue remains. There are also a couple of other activities that run (like General Services ...

Re: Symbolic link, hard link or junction? (Windows and OneDrive)
In my experience, adding linked folders to OneDrive, DropBox, etc. is not reliable. I would not suggest this strategy for backup.

creating new sub folder, new folder doesn't appear
PS6: in Folders view, if you create a new subfolder (via the context menu) in a directory that doesn't have any subfolders, the new subfolder doesn't display.
the solution i've found is to collapse and expand the "top level folder", then re-navigate to the place where the subfolder was created.

Adjust panel: rotation: recipe applied twice?
I used the Adjust panel to rotate an image (90 degrees CW), saved the recipe, and exited the Adjust panel (went back to thumbnails). When I view the image, I see the recipe icon in the upper left corner and the image is displayed with the expected rotation.
When I reopen the Adjust panel for the ...

Timeline: how to set the timestamp for photos?
My old photos are scanned so the dates are not useful. I'd like to get them onto the timeline. What's the best way to do this?
I'll have to lie about the date since I don't know exact dates, but that's fine (for example, 1/1/1960 for photos from the 60's). It would be nice to have the concept of ...

More information about "New Area"
I'm finally getting around to importing photos from recent years into V2. I've noticed "New Area" popups in some of the photos I've imported. I've found a the short description in the V2 "What's New" but am looking for a more complete explanation of this feature. I'm also curious to know why I'm ...

Re: Expected metadata to be synchronized automatically
Hi Hert,
Jeff, that is intended behavior. As mentioned, you typically use the Import module to import new images. Then you can assign catalog labels to every individual thumb (impossible with IDI, where you could only assign labels to all images). The counters then show the number of images to be ...

Re: Expected metadata to be synchronized automatically
When you try to import images that are already in the catalog then they will always be skipped. There's no marker to indicate that they are already in the catalog. Then again, you typically use the Import Module to import images that are not yet in the catalog. if you need to scan for new images ...

Re: Expected metadata to be synchronized automatically
Hi Hert,
I think I'm missing something. You import a folder and labeled those in PSU. The result is that there are xmp files created.
Correct?
That's correct.
Then you say that you import the parent folder. Is that after starting with a new database or in the same database (with the ...

Expected metadata to be synchronized automatically
I imported a folder into Photo Supreme and then added labels to the images. I can see the .xmp files in the folder using Windows Explorer.
However, when I go to the parent directory and do an Import, the images that I have just imported and labelled show up as being not imported and not labelled ...
