Since the last update I have been getting an information message box with 'Access Violation (0)' when exiting from full screen preview (pressing Esc). If I click the OK box then it goes away and things return to normal. If I hit 'Enter' however, PS shutsdown immediately.
This is happening on both my ...

Re: does Lightroom corrupt DNGs or PSU display them incorrec
I use Lightroom 4.4 and always use the following settings when converting to DNG 'Use ACR 7.1 or later' & 'Embed fast load data'. No problems with viewing these DNG's in PSu.

Re: Batch Rename of Files
Hert,
Yes I understand that Tom's solution is a 'workaround' and that I will need to remember the offset each time. My point was that the 'workaround' works and renames the files correctly.

Re: Batch Rename of Files
Ian,
Sorry this is causing you so much trouble. I would try removing the continuous parameter and see if that fixes the (nnn) issue. I think I had trouble getting continuous to work in the past. I usually don't use it.
The offset parameter is simply "offset = n" inside the braces. Try this to see ...

Re: Batch Rename of Files
Mike,
I have tried the following:
1. Test-%0001{length=4;continuous}.%FileExtension . Result = "Test-0001{length=4;continuous}.dng" "Test-0001{length=4;continuous}(001).dng" "Test-0001{length=4;continuous}(002).dng" etc. I now understand why this does not work.

Re: Batch Rename of Files
Hi Michael,
Yes I understand why the (nnn) appears. I still have IDimager v5 so will install it again and re-build the rename macro that I used there and copy it over, see if it works. The batch processor in IDi v5 was much easier to understand and use.
Many thanks for your help so far.

Re: Batch Rename of Files
I am now completely and utterly confused! Why does the simple task of renaming files have to be so convoluted? I'm sorry but I am not a programmer of any description.
The closest I got to achieving my goal was "Test-0001.dng" "Test-0001(001).dng" "Test-0001(002).dng" etc. Where do I insert the ...

Hert,,
I am obviously doing something wrong! I copied & pasted %FileName-%ImageNumber{length=4;continuous}.%FileExtension into the Batch Rename Text box. As a test I did the following:
1. Selected 5 photos.
2. In the Batch Rename Text box edited the script to read "%Test-%0001{length=4;continuous ...

Re: Color labelling shortcuts
Ctrl-Shift-v, umm...welcome, where have you been hiding then
On a more serious note, are there any other undocumented short cuts? And can the "shortcut sticky" please be updated.

Re: Portfolios
Both methods given above work but are rather "clunky". I will stick to the method I was using - catalog set to Portfolio view, use the search bar to find the images required, select them and drag and drop into the relevant Collection.

Compacting DB
Probably a very silly question but how do I Compact the DB? I can find no option to do so, or does "Tools>Cleanup unused thumbs and previews" compact as well?

Portfolios
What is a simple way to add photos to a portfolio? - when switching to Portfolio view all photos disappear so "cannot drag and drop".
