Hi all,
I have marked several folders with a total of approx. 10000 images for display. If I now drag the scroll bar all the way down, Photo Supreme starts to reload? However, I reach approx. 2000 images. It is a similar experience to a website with Infinity Load. I have to touch the scroll bar 13 times and pull it down to REALLY reach the end.
That can't be intentional, can it? I don't expect 10,000 (preview) images to load in seconds, but I do expect the scroll bar to take me where I want to go.
Has anyone else had this experience?
Kind regards.
Scroll Bar Infinity Load?
Re: Scroll Bar Infinity Load?
Nope!
But you don't say what sort of machine or OS your running so very difficult to compare ....
It can take a couple of seconds to grab the thumbnails from the database to display, but normally the outlines are visible until the contents are loaded.

Re: Scroll Bar Infinity Load?
If I read this right... I find a sort that has 100,000 images... I drag to the slider to the bottom. The expectation is that I go to the end of the list. Instead, I go somewhat down the list... and the slider is relocated to about 25% away from the bottom. Then I have to repeat a few times to get to the end of the list.
If I got that right, that is exactly how my version of PSU operates, too. Always has....

And as I wrote i don't expect that all thumbnails are loaded.
Exactly, that's my experiance…apanella wrote: 08 Aug 24 22:50 If I read this right... I find a sort that has 100,000 images... I drag to the slider to the bottom. Re: Scroll Bar Infinity Load?
Presumably it doesn't know the number of images that need to be displayed until it has reached the end of the database, if its still searching for thumbnails when you move the slider then by the time the slider has reached the "old" end a "new" end has been established which the slider then jumps back to, causing you to need to move the slider again ?

You can press the End key on the keyboard to jump to the last image in the set.

Re: Scroll Bar Infinity Load?
The number of images is shown near the tab bar right after selecting the folders. That's long before I start touching the scroll bar. And again: it is not about the display of loaded thumbnails. The length of the total list for the proportional position of the scrollbar can also be calculated without a single loaded thumbnail.G8DHE wrote: 09 Aug 24 7:40 Presumably it doesn't know the number of images that need to be displayed until it has reached the end of the database, if its still searching for thumbnails when you move the slider then by the time the slider has reached the "old" end a "new" end has been established which the slider then jumps back to, causing you to need to move the slider again ?
Good hint, but why the unexpected behaviour of the scrollbar? If there is a generally known control element, why does the mode of operation differ? The only app I know with this behaviour is Microsoft Word - and we all don't want to talk about the "quality" (in this case even the quotation marks need quotation marks) of Microsoft products.Hert wrote: 09 Aug 24 8:11 You can press the End key on the keyboard to jump to the last image in the set.
Either you have a scroll bar for complete navigation across all list elements or you do without it, when something like an infinity feed (e.g. Instagram) is not given. I am sorry, but can't see any advantages in this partial scrolling.
Kind regards.
