Is there a problem with Smugmug?

Post by Larry56 »

I've tried a couple times to upload some photos to Smugmug using an existing profile but after uploading 8 of them I get access violations for the rest.

I was able to upload 8 after an access violation failure when trying to upload 40 so decided to upload in smaller batches and although the first 8 wen fine the others didn't.

Anyone else having problems?

I just uploaded 40 images to SmugMug without issues.
You state: "after an access violation". If, for whatever reason, you get an access violation then try to restart the software before trying again.

If it persists then maybe you can narrow it down to a single file?

Thank you Hert for your reply but it now seems it's related to specific files. I tried several small uploads and found selected photos generated the access violation and wouldn't upload. I've looked at the metadata and can't see anything out of line. All are jpg with a mix of OOC and ON1 processed.

Here's the PhotoSupreme generated error

Any ideas why only selected files? Is this error originally sent by Smugmug or from Photo Supreme?

PSu v2023.2.0.4891
MacOS Ventura 13.5.2

Edit for more information. I don't know if it makes a difference but I copied these files from an external SSD (Exfat) from another Macbook. I also was trying to upload from a different folder than I usually use. I found that by moving the files I wanted to upload to my Pending folder I was able to upload without any problems. For some reason something in the folder OS settings was causing a problem? For now problem is solved although I don't understand why a different folder would cause erratic behaviour.

My Smugmug Access Violation error has returned and I can't find any reason why some are uploaded and others not. Restarting PSu sometimes helps for some of them but the error returns rather quickly.

I've tried a couple profiles. One with no changes and another with size limits, filtered metadata but that doesn't make any difference.

Is there a log or some way I can determine why an Access Violation? It seems this is generated by Photo Supreme and not Smugmug unless for some reason Smugmug can't access my account randomly?

Hert, is there any way to find out why there is the access violation? I just uploaded 7 photo and 1 was rejected. I have more to upload but would like to confirm PSu doesn't create a log that would tell me why specific photos have access violations.

Hert, I just tried on a different computer, MacBook pro m1, Ventura 13.5.2 and PSu 2023.2.0.4981 and had the same Acccess Violation on some photos I'm trying to upload to Smugmug.

I did contact Smugmug and they''ve replied they don't see anything in their log files on my account to indicate a problem so it must be something on my computers but I have no idea on how to find out what might be causing this.
