Time Line corruption?

Attached is a screen shot of an issue I am having. This is the timeline for the year 1870. Note the first month is 1869-12. The first day under Jan, 1870 is 1869-12-31. There are similar issues in other months here.

I have this problem in many locations in the time line.

In some cases I can fix by 1st destroying all version sets. Then using CTL-SHIFT-D to redate the images. But this does not always work.

Also note the number of photos for the year (94) does not match the total of the individual months (88).

Suggestions? Any other information you need to help diagnose the issue?

Time stamps in digital files are a notorious problem. I have some of the same issues with my files, particularly if they are derivatives edited in third-party software. But in my case things are bot quite as drastic. With the first camera invented supposedly in 1816, I am not even sure many folks did already use one in the 1870's - which your screenshot implies
Your screenshot also suggests these are Photoshop (PSD) files? Not sure how these files record metadata and why Photoshop would obviously corrupt the file dates so badly. If your original files contain dates that are not corrupted, then perhaps instead of breaking your version sets, you could cascade the metadata (including the file dates) from the files not yet corrupted to the ones messed-up?

I have inherited a few from the 1880's - and possibly some older ones in a large batch that I haven't scanned yet - so it may not be that unusual!

However all of mine are currently only dated with the scan date, so I can't comment on the timeline issue.

Actually the dates this old are being used as hold place for files I want out of the way. Not real dates. Any of my real images before 2006 are scanned from prints or negatives. The dates in the metadata were set with Adobe Elements Organizer, the product I am finally fleeing from. Most of the dates in post 2006 digital images have been correct with Geo Setter. (Now on it last legs due to old technology and declining support, but a fantastic program).

Yep a lot of the early scanning I did was to PSD format. (In hindsight a mistake for trusting Adobe).

I do see that the dates in the different items in the version set are different from each other. If Photo Supreme is not expecting that then I can see that would cause an issue.

Not getting consistent results from the Redating operation. I would expect that the Change File Date would change the date I see in File Explorer. But it does not seem to do so consistently.
