Facial recognition: what's the most efficient way to confirm faces?

Post by randomphotoguy »

How to most efficiently review and confirm all "unconfirmed" faces? I assume there is a better way than going photo by photo, right clicking on each face, and using the context menu, but I can't find it. Anything better?

The most efficient way is to *not* confirm *all* unconfirmed faces.

As described in the manual:

You only need to have a couple of faces confirmed for every person. Confirming *all* is very ineffective and defeats the purpose of face recognition. Confirm an area for a person only if:
1. It was not automatically recognized
2. It is a face that you would like to use as a reference for that person. Confirmed faces would typically be relatively up-front faced faces that clearly represents the person

Thanks a lot for the quick reply! That's clear thank you. I actually meant, what's the quickest way to confirm a larger amount of faces, not literally all of them - but my post was poorly worded. Either way, it wouldn't "defeat the purpose of face recognition" - because the technology would be finding the photos for me, and I would just be confirming them. Much faster than me searching the photos myself and manually adding face areas.

In any case, seems like I might need a lot fewer confirmed faces than I anticipated, so I won't worry about trying to save time here. Thanks for clarifying.

Are there tools to help automate the removal of irrelevant faces?
