I use PS on Windows 7. I created a catalog of many smaller pictures of my work. The thumbnail DB is over one GB in size.
I created a second catalog with a smaller number of pictures, and the thumbnail db is about 160Mb. Both db and thmb db are named with the catalog name in it - e.g., catalog-2.cat.db and catalog-2.thumbs.db.
If I create a backup of catalog-2, I end up with a folder with the following files in it:
catalog-2.cat.db
photosupreme.thumbs.db
The thumbs database is over one GB in size. It looks like I got the db of the second catalog and the thumbs db from the first.
I restarted the program and was able to get the correct backup.
thumbnail db backup to large
Re: thumbnail db backup to large
Why don't you just copy the 2 files to a place where you want it and be done with it?
Re: thumbnail db backup to large
We end up coping around db files. Defeats the purpose of backup/restore commands.
Re: thumbnail db backup to large
I just did a backup here of a test catalog called test.cat.db/test.thumbs.db. This test catalog is stored in the exact same folder as all my other catalogs (I have 8 ).
The backup folder contained the test.cat.db and test.thumbs.db files. None of the other catalog files.
Maybe your backup folder already had pre-existing files in it?
