restore not working

Post by snowman1 »

I am trying to migrate to a new laptop. I am following the guidance in the PSU Maintenance PDF.
On the old laptop I have compacted the databases (thumb and catalog) and made a backup.
On the new laptop I have installed PSU (the same version, which is to say the terminal V6 version, 6.7.2.4229 64bit). This has installed ok.
On the new laptop I opened PSU and tried to restore from the backups I made on the old laptop. The restore finished very quickly - about 2 seconds. It appears to finish normally with a message "Restored. The application will now terminate itself. Please restart the application. Catalog restore finished". But when I restart PSU the catalog is still empty. Am I doing something wrong?

You can manually copy over the photosupreme.cat.db and photosupreme.thumbs.db files from the backup to the catalog folder.

That worked, thanks.
Is that what import does (or in this case didn't do!), an OS-level file copy of the catalog? Just curious.
