Any MacBook Pro users running OS12 here please?

Post by Stephen »

I am looking for a MacBook Pro user running OS12 who would be willing to send me a screen shot please.

After many years, Apple have finally started replacing the interfaces which they removed from their laptops and which made life on the road with many external hard drives impossible. Now I can once more give them my money and get the latest model. As I don't always have a large display connected, the laptop display needs to be workable.

In particular on modern laptops, the right hand column in PSu (forget the term) displays a very small font size compared to older models / operating systems. Hert says that this can be adjust in the MacOS Display settings. Has anybody done this and can offer assistance to a longterm PSu user please?

I run a 13" MacBook Air 2020 with M1 and macOS 12.4

If you are used to a certain monitor resolution (a typical non-retina display used about 1280x800 pixels but you can look that up) then match that in the scaling.

Below are screenshots using the 4 "suggested" options in macOS. In all these screenshots I didn't change anything except for the scaling. Typically I would use a smaller thumb size in PSU when using a larger scaling.
Also note that displayed images (thumbs, previews, viewer) are *always* displayed "unscaled" and use the monitor's native resolution (2560x1600 in this MBA). This regardless the configured scaling in macOS (or Windows for that matter).

This is with the display scale setting "Default Scaling", which simulates 1440x900 resolution. This is the scaling that I use, since that is what macOS defaults to on. this MBA.

Thanks, that is a great help. Is it also possible in PSu to change from dark mode to light mode, i.e. black letters on white? Especially in the right hand pane / column?
