Hi
Newbie user here. Sorry if this is obvious.
For journalists- descriptions, keywords, and credit are king. I'm looking for suggestions for how to quickly allow access to description/caption, keyword, and credit?
Here is what I am seeing-
KEYWORDS: Under categories in ALL tab- keywords are listed as Miscellaneous, and they aren't listed at all under details in ALL tab? If we need to add "unique" keywords to images, so far the way we are doing it requests us to add the label to the catalog- but this might be only needed for this one image- which then makes a few extra clicks? Anyway to quickly add keywords without adding them as labels?
In Details in the ALL view, description/caption is not listed at all which surprises us all here at our company. Is there a reason for that? We are also looking for a quick way to locate all images without a description/caption...
Is there a best practices to our workflow/view that can be saved for each catalog we build- we like one per shoot- that can help us prioritize these metadata fields you can think of?
Thanks again in advance.
Christina
DETAILS VIEW REQUEST: Keywords, captions, and credit king for journalists

1. Select one or more thumbnailsKEYWORDS: Under categories in ALL tab- keywords are listed as Miscellaneous, and they aren't listed at all under details in ALL tab? 2. Click Labels from teh command bar below the thumbnails. That opens the Label Assignment Panel
3. Here you can quickly assign Catalog Labels
BTW; if all keywords appear in Miscellaneous then that means your files don't have hierarchical keywords in the metadata. That makes sense as MediaPro came from an era where hierarchical keywords were not part of the metadata standards.
Best to drag the Catalog Labels from the Miscellaneous category to their appropriate category (People, Objects, Styles, etc). You can drag/drop multiple Catalog Labels by selecting multiple while holding down the Cmd key (Windows users hold down the Ctrl key for multi-select).
Descriptions/Captions do not appear in the Details section because there can be way too many variations and the Catalog Tree is not the way to search for a description. In Details in the ALL view, description/caption is not listed at all which surprises us all here at our company. You can search metadata using the search box in the upper right corner. You can do that fine grained (read the Searching manual) but start with plain simple phrase searches. The Search Box has some powerful magic behind it and allows you to find about everything in the catalog in its most simple way (a Google like search).
Please ask if you have additional questions.
thank you
