Post by fbungarz » 09 Dec 19 22:38

Hi all,
moving from one computer to another, where does PSu store its custom filters?
Thanks,
Frank

Scripts can also be stored here:
%localappdata%\IDimager Systems, Inc.\Scripts\FilterScripts

When you save a filter the file ends up in
%localappdata%\IDimager Systems, Inc.\Filters

Apparently not on my system. Perhaps the directories changed with the new version(s). Have been using PSu for far too long ;-)

Thanks Geoff - found the "culprits" ...

I thought I had found it and copied them over, but they do not show up :(
I tried saving one filter as TEST 111, but cannot find that one:

I looked in
C:\Users\Frank\AppData\Local\IDimager Systems, Inc\Filters
and
C:\Program Files\IDimager Products\Photo Supreme 4\Resources\Scripts\FilterScripts

The "Test 111" is not there...

Still, i cannot find these odd filters in that menu, for example the ones named "DNGs to do" or "GEO to enter" or the one with the file path.
What are those? I am not using them anymoe, tried deleting them, but right-click delete does not show up...

Could be that those are Favorites. Favorites are also available as a filter.
And favorites are stored in the database.

Hhhmmm.
Playing around with is I wonder "why?"
Why are they part of the filter menu?
If I click on a favorite folder in "Favorites" - it takes me there (even though the tree in "Folders" does not update/refresh...).

But if (again in folder view) I use these paths from the filter menu, no results are being returned :?

So, I understand if a dynamic search is added to the filter menu, but why favorite folders?

Filters are the overlapping result of two sets.

How filters work;
1. you open a set of images any way you want it.
2. You apply a filter
3. The result are all images in the active set that also match the filter condition

For example.
1. Open a set of images, for example from from a specific catalog label.
2. Click on a red color label in the filter bar
3. The result is all images from the active set that correspond to the red color label.

The favorites in the FILTER button bahave the same.
1. Open a set of images, for example from from a specific catalog label.
2. Click on your favorite folder in the FILTER button drop down
3. The result is all images from the active set are in the folder

Also read the Advanced Filtering quick manual in the ? menu for more info about filtering.
