V6 unable to connect to the database: missing dblink.control

Post by Robosoc » 23 Feb 21 18:53

I just set up a Synology NAS according the incredible manual from isotopicgas (thank you soooo much):
viewtopic.php?f=57&t=24388

I kind of have the feeling the finaly everything worked out as it should. I managed to initially set up the dabase photosupreme as per manual...and at the very end of my first step into PSU V6 user interface the connection to the database crashes with the follwing message:

Unable to conncet to the database.
Something went wrong while upgrading your PostgreSQL Catalog towards version 3028 (last successfull step is 3020)
could not open extension control file "usr/share/postgresql/extension/dblink.control": No such file or directory

Does anyone have a suggestion for me?
I use the preinstalled PostgreSQL V9.3.15 and selected V9.3 when installing PSU V6 Server. I could imagine, that there may be some issues with the latest PSU V6 and the very old V9.3 of PostgreSQL and I guess only very view are still using V9.3, right?
Is there any link for downloading the latest PSU V5 Server Trial? I am currently on PSU V5 standalone.

edit: I just checked, the folder seem to exist, but there is no file dblink.control in that folder:

Appears to be a user rights issue.
Most likely the process owner of your PostgreSQL service (the service that runs the PostgreSQL service) on the Synology has no access to that folder.

Okay, thank you, will check that...but I decided to go with single user versions (offline work is possible) and ordered two V6 single user vrsions today :-) So the topic of this discuission is only for a good feeling after all :-)
