Version Detection finds one file too many

Post by Bongo » 07 Jul 20 18:02

My settings:
Main version detection method: %FileName.jpg

Place holder all Custom File Mask:

Code: Select all

web display: %FileName_WEB.jpg,%FileName_FFI.jpg,%FileName_FC.jpg
HD: %FileName_HD.jpg
RAW: %FileName.cr2,%FileName.dng,%FileName.raw,%FileName.tif
Version Detection with right mouse click found:

Code: Select all

Main version: 2020_06_26_1828_Canon EOS 5D Mark IV_AZ0A4619-Bearbeitet.jpg
web display: 2020_06_26_1828_Canon EOS 5D Mark IV_AZ0A4619-Bearbeitet_WEB.jpg
HD: 2020_06_26_1828_Canon EOS 5D Mark IV_AZ0A4619-Bearbeitet_HD.jpg
RAW: 2020_06_26_1828_Canon EOS 5D Mark IV_AZ0A4619-Bearbeitet.tif
So it is good!
But it also finds this file without a place holder:
2020_06_26_1828_Canon EOS 5D Mark IV_AZ0A4619.CR2
Why is this file found?

Which files are detected as versions depends on "Version set detection mask" (default %Filename*.*) and "Version set offset folder". Whether or not a filename corresponds to a "Place holder matching method" has no influence on detection of versions.

My "Version set detection mask" is default %Filename*. *
I don't know exactly how version detection works. But I guess it starts with the main version.
Main version is "2020_06_26_1828_Canon EOS 5D Mark IV_AZ0A4619-Bearbeitet.jpg"

%Filename in this case is "2020_06_26_1828_Canon EOS 5D Mark IV_AZ0A4619-Bearbeitet".
Why is this file "2020_06_26_1828_Canon EOS 5D Mark IV_AZ0A4619.CR2" in the version set? That doesn't fit into the mask.

Your version set is determined based on %FileName*.* meaning all file combinations that match that mask are to be combined in a version set. The files you mention all match the mask.

Version detection doesn’t start with the main version. After all, there is no main version yet. First the version set is determined and the main version is then picked from the version set based on the rule you define.

I think the file "2020_06_26_1828_Canon EOS 5D Mark IV_AZ0A4619.CR2" does not belong in the version set. It doesn't match the mask.
Then I have to remove the file every time.

The file match criteria does match its %filename*.* the "-Bearbeitet" is matched by the first * the ".jpg" is matched by the second *
If the matching was %filename.* then it wouldn't match.
