Cloud Vision API error

Post by Mke » 24 Jun 20 18:55

Although I'm not attempting to use AI for labeling, I am very occasionally getting the error message below while manually labeling.

Presumably this shouldn't be happening.

PSU only does AI labeling when triggered by the user.

Perhaps you clicked on Detect Labels In the LAP? Or used a shortcut that is assigned to AI labeling (see shortcuts manual)? Could also be that you have AI labeling switched on in the import profile?

No, none of those apply. I'll report back if I can identify any specific trigger.

It's take a while, but I just had this happen again.

After working in another application, I returned to PSU and, with an image in the preview window, clicked on the search box in the LAP and starting typing to assign a label (starting with a W). PSU became non-responsive for a few moments, then returned with the image I was working on flipped through 90° and with the Cloud Vision API error message over the top of it. Strange.

Hmm, these are the AI shortcuts (using Vision) that are active when the preview Windows is open:

I expect that you hit one of those. However, I don't expect those shortcuts to be functional when you are in a text box (like the search box)

I just had a similar experience. Strangely, the cursor seemed to be at least partially active in two places at once, which might point to a cause? Specifically:

1) If I typed in the the top-right search bar, my typing didn't appear, but the Cloud Vision warning popped up when I hit the return key. It did this reliably, each time I repeated it.

2) If I typed in the LAP box to assign a label, this appeared to work normally, however the cursor remained flashing in the top-right search bar.

3) If I repeated step 1 above, the Cloud Vision warning still popped up.

Thought I'd caught it all on video, but I only got a small clip without the warning, showing only the 2nd case. Here's a screenshot:
