Re: Wrong image count of sub collections

I too have this problem. All dynamic collections I have created show a count of 0. Unlike Alfons, a small test catalog I created still shows only 0 counts. To answer questions you asked Alfons above, I am running the latest build, 3044, I'm using the single edition, and I'm running Mac OS Mojave.

My collections are very simple: each include a single category label, and no exceptions.

I don't know if Alfons sent you his catalog, but I can send you my small test one if it would help, just tell me where to send it.

I have not received a database yet. If you could share one then that would be great. Best to upload it to a cloud drive (drop box, google drive, one drive, icloud, wetransfer, etc) and send a download link to support@idimager.com

Timeline counts all zero?

Post by gcurrie » 10 Aug 20 4:45

PhotoSupreme on a server on PostgreSQL 9.6. Clients all at build 3044.

After one of the more recent builds, noticed all years under Timeline are zero.

How do I get the Timeline sections to update?

Is that every time (also after restarting PSU)?
And how about the months below the years?
Can you share a screenshot?
Is the logged in user a restricted catalog user?
Did you switch catalogs and did the miscounting occur afterwards?

1. Yes, after at least a month with 2-3 server reboots.
2. Screenshot attached. There are no months, only years.
3. All users are admin.
4. Using the same catalog for years, no switch.

Oddly enough, the Memories section does include a small slice of images.

Can you post the result of this script? Run it in Tools -> Scripter from the hamburger menu.
Tip: double click on the i-icon in the message to copy the result to clipboard

Code: Select all

var
  ADs: TDBXOMClientDataSet;
  ASl: TStringList;
begin
  ASl := TStringList.Create;
  ADs := PublicCatalog.NewDataSet;
  try
    ADs.CommandText := 'select distinct idyear as idYear from idcatalogitem';
    ADs.OpenSet;
    while not ADs.EndOfSet do
    begin
      ASl.Add(IntToStr(ADs.FieldValue('idYear')));
      ADs.NextInSet;
    end;

    Say(ASl.Text);
  finally

Thank you, and what does this script give?

Code: Select all

var
  ADs: TDBXOMClientDataSet;
  ASl: TStringList;
begin
  ASl := TStringList.Create;
  ADs := PublicCatalog.NewDataSet;
  try

    ADs.OpenSet;
    while not ADs.EndOfSet do
    begin
      ASl.Add(ADs.FieldValue('idYear') + '   ' + ADs.FieldValue('idMonth'));
      ADs.NextInSet;
    end;

    Say(ASl.Text);
  finally

Thank you. Your database content that makes up the timeline is fine.
It doesn't make sense that you don't get the expansion triangle for the year level. The year level should always show the triangle, regardless.
Can you send me a backup of the catalog database so I can try it here? You can create a backup with pgAdmin

Leave all the backup settings in pgAdmin at their default.
In pgAdmin, select backup, enter the file name and done. Optionally also read the PSU Maintenance manual. It explains the backup with pgAdmin.

Thank you for sending your database. After creating a new catalog, and restoring your backup to it, I do see the timeline (see screenshot below). Something else must be going on here. I don't have 9.4 available here but tested on the oldest PostgreSQL that I have available, which is 10.

Can you try to install PSU with the PostgreSQL 12 client libraries (select that in the PSU installer)?

Does that make a difference?

This is what I see.

Thanks Hert!

I am running PostgreSQL 9.6 on both Windows server and Win10 clients. It's been a few years since I set it up.

I'm assuming I would need to upgrade to 12 on the server as well? I've been looking for a good reason to up to 12.
Or is it only the client libraries that are the suspect here? (meaning they work with a lower version server?)
