Support for CaptureOne sidecar files from v9, v10, v11, v12 and v20

Tally-Hoo,

How does this new Capture One sidecar file support suppose to work compared to the earlier None / Elementary / Approximate file support?

I tried it in v2678 (macOS) with some RAW edits and I found where the HDR slider was extensively used the results are too far off.

None: basically the original RAW
Elementary does respect crop and some edits
Approximate does respect crop and edits but has problem with HDR edits. Since the HDR functionality became so powerful in C1v20 I use it almost on all images to some extent.

I don't use Capture One, however the purpose of incorporating these features was as an aid to managing the files in PSU, not for display/print purposes.

Capture One's technology is proprietary, so PSU is limited in its ability to interpret their adjustments. This difference between modes is:
  • Elementary - PSU only processes settings that are verified as being 100% reproducible in PSU (such as cropping, for example)
  • Approximate: In addition to the elementary processing, where the impact of other settings can be estimated, PSU provides an approximation of them too.
Personally I don't apply either, as I prefer to see RAW files as shot, while processed JPGs display the final images

I solely got you, however upon seeing the 'What's new' feature list made me curious what magic elixir was twined into the code?
