Subfolder mask difficulty

Post by Chris Walton » 14 Jan 20 3:15

I have a problem with the folder mask for import. It is not behaving the way I expect, and does not operate in the same way that the filename mask does.

I set up a custom defined filename (%yyyy-%mm-%dd %hh-%nn-%ss %FileName.%FileExtension)
saved the file
applied the file
saved the import profile

the results were that
the new filename mask appeared in the Filename control
the new filename mask appeared as a selection in the drop down part of this control
the new mask was applied on import

By comparison following the same procedure for the Subfolder mask (%yyyy\%mm\%dd) led to the result
the new subfolder mask did not appear in the Subfolder name control
the new subfolder mask did not appear in the drop down part of this control (it remained the same)
the new mask was not applied on import

in both cases the .filerename file was created in my AppData\Local\IDImager Systems, Inc\Rename Rules\ directory
the subfolder mask file DOES appear in the drop down list for the Filename control
an alternative (%yyyy\%mm\%dd\) had exactly the same issue
an attempted workaround (%yyyy\%mm\%dd\g%yyyy-%mm-%dd %hh-%nn-%ss %FileName.%FileExtension) for the Filename did not work

I am running:
Photo Supreme build 5.3.0.2624 (64 bit)
Windows 10 version 1909 (OS Build 18363.535)
Lenovo P50 machine with Processor Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E3-1505M v5 @ 2.80GHz, 2808 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s)
and Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 32.0 GB

Apparently the file for the sub folder is saved with the .filerename extension in the AppData folder.
Change that to .folderename
