XML export available?

Post by nenadv » 01 Jul 19 3:59

Is it possible to export XML of the specific collection? Similar to what MediaPro exports.

A warm welcome to the forum.

You can export to CSV.

1. Select the thumbnails you'd like to export
2. Right click on a selected thumbnail
3. Select Metadata -> Export metadata to CSV file

You can then select the columns for export

Exporting metadata is only a partof the process. I also need data related to the collections and picture order, similar to mediapro. We process XML and generate HTML for our template.

“Similar to MediaPro” doesn’t tell me anything. Maybe you can share what you’d like to export from Photo Supreme instead. Maybe a sample row? Then I could tell you if and how you can create such a row from PSU.

Sorry for the late response. The XML file is the file you use to import data from MediaPro.

(1) Contains all the metadata for each image
(2) Contains all the keywords for each image

Something like this:

<MediaItem>
<AssetProperties>
<Filename>IMG_2034.JPG</Filename>
<Filepath>...
<UniqueID>347</UniqueID>
...
</AssetProperties>
<MediaProperties>
<Width unit="Pixels">5472</Width>
<Height unit="Pixels">3648</Height>
...
</MediaProperties>
<AnnotationFields>
<Product>...
</AnnotationFields>
<UserFields>
<UserField_1>...
</UserFields>
<MetaDataFields>
<Maker>Canon</Maker>
<Model>Canon EOS 6D</Model>
...
</MetaDataFields>
</MediaItem>

3) Contains XML description of the catalog. Something like this:

<SetList>
<Set>
<SetName>NAME</SetName>
<Set>
<SetName>NAME SUBSET</SetName>
<UniqueID>145</UniqueID> <---- MediaItem ID
<UniqueID>238</UniqueID>
</Set>
</Set>

I am not looking for identical XML export but something similar.

Psu doesn’t export MediaPro XML files. You can export to CSV and you could build your html templates on that. Or you could write a script to export to XML. But I think that’s a bridge too far for a novice user. Best to use what’s already there and use the CSV export

How do you export to CSV? I checked all the scripts but cannot find anything.

I presume that this will not export the catalog data, just the info on media.
