How much time does a catalogue's backup need?

Post by bimo » 09 May 19 11:15

I'm still suspicious reagarding the catalogue's backup: while the initial steps just took 9 minutes the backup part "idSearchData" is now running for more than 2.5 hours and the progress is just 5%. The catalogue including thumbs db has 85.7 GB for 100k images.

- No thumbs included in backup
- compacted db directly before backup
- PSU PostgreSQL v4332082 / win 10 / i7-8700 / 16GB

Is that behaviour normal?

When using Postgresql then you can best use pgAdmin for backup purposes.

Thank you so much for your advice, Hert. pgAdmin is a huge time saver: it took less than an hour to complete... :D
