I'm afraid your questions are above my computer knowledge Hert.
I did enable ICS reading when I installed postgres.
I don't know how to check with a metadata tool
The catalog I used were names I developed over the years: Mom, Dad, Vacation etc. Not private really.
Is there no way to "restore" like we used to when we lost a database?
What is wierd is the small 10 pictures I did first had the catalog labels, but the big import did not.

You have Photo Supreme ;)
1. Right click on a thumb
2. Select Run Script from Repository
3. Select Metadata -> Full Exif Dump

I did do ICS thing when I start Prosgrel.

That is IPTC keywords, you were going to check if ICS is in the metadata.

But if ICS is not there and IPTC keywords is all you have, then you can always import the IPTC (Metadata - Convert Metadata to XMP from context menu).

Why would I not see thumb context menu > Run Script from Repository? Am running 4.3.2.1927. I haven't had a need to Run Repository Scripts before now but I know it's been implemented for far earlier PSu versions. Thanks for help.

It won’t be displayed if one of these items applies;
1. The OS tells PSU that you’re not connected to the internet,
2. Your firewall blocks PSU from accessing the internet
3. You disabled the repository in Preferences-Other settings.

Ah IPTC-IIM (classic) keywords only. The software that you use on your image files must also write keywords to XMP when XMP is present. Apparently you used a tool that doesn't do that and only writes IPTC-IIM. Probably an outdated tool.

PSU allows you to re-convert metadata back to XMP to help you fix such omissions created by 3rd party tools.

Right click on a select thumb and select Metadata -> Convert Metadata to XMP

Hert,
The ONLY tool I've ever used to assign labels to my pictures is PSU within the program itself. Never anything else.

Hert,
Converting metadat to xmp did not change the catalog labels in any way. :(

There’s a save button in the full EXIF dump. Can you paste that here, because your screenshot doesn’t show everything.
If these are written with PSU then there is XMP.

If there are keywords and they don’t roll in then your Sync Readsettings are also relevant. Also post a screenshot of fhat

With these read settings and with that metadata in the file, the keywords Christmas and Erin must show up when you right click on the thumb-Metadata-Read metadata from file
