ExifTool script in repository

Post by Hert » 29 Apr 18 18:01

For those who didn’t notice yet, there’s now a script in the repository that allows you to capture the output of ExifTool in PSU.

Find the script by right clicking on a thumbnail and then select “Run from Repository->Metadata->ExifTool Metadata Output”

Hi Hert,
Just looking at the script as a an alternative of launching ExifTool GUI from within PSu (which means I have to run PSU as administrator, see Too bad it does not show the entire XMP visible in ).

Two questions:
Why does that script not provide ALL data that ExifTool can read?
Why are the encodings incorrect?
To me it looks like the data are not shown in UTF 8. For example, the copyright symbol is displayed as "©". In ExifTool GUI it is displayed correctly as "©".
Thanks much for clarifying,
Frank
