details tree extremly slow

Post by weidmic » 27 Apr 18 7:49

Hert,

I know, this was never fast but with my ever growing image catalog this gets more and more obstructive. (almost 125.000 images)

When I need to look up some data in the details tree on the left side to validate some entries, lets say in the copyright notice, it takes a couple of minutes until the tree extends...

Again, I have a fast computer and everything like the OS (win10 64) and the database (postgresql) are on a SSD's.
The only thing not on a SSD are my photos. They are on my NAS - only the photos from the last couple of month are on a SSD too.

I think I have done everything I can to do to make it as fast as possible, but working with the detail tree is still a pain in the ...

Well, I don't use the details panel on the left side much because of the snail like speed - if it would be faster would be wonderful.

I like to clean up some metadata, but for this I need to work in the details tree
However every click on the detail tree gives me the opportunity for a coffee break! And as you know, too much coffee is health risk!

If you could spend a little time in improving the speed there would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Michael

I must confess that I love coffee, preferably Blue Mountain coffee.
When time permits I'll see if it can be improved on Postgresql.

Great, thanks...

Nothing goes without coffee anyway :)
