Migrate postgres 9.3 to 9.5?

Post by isotopicgas » 21 Feb 18 23:06

Anyone done this - what is the best way. I tried it with pg_dump and restore, but get an error about idimager_main authentication failing on the new server. Also - is there a way of making photosupreme think it has a NEW install with no database configured, so I could create a new "empty" database on the new server?

Hi,
with update to PSU V4 I have migrated my PostgreSQL Server from 9.x to 10.x. My Server is running as Linux (Debian) VM

You could use this:
1. Run PSU for 9.3
2. Make a backup in Tools->Backup
3. Install the same PSU version, now for 9.5 (if needed, switch off the 9.3 service and install 9.5 now)
4. Start PSU while holding down the Ctrl+Alt+Win key. This will display the Database Creation dialog
5. Create a new catalog in 9.5
6. After PSU starts with 9.5, do a restore of the backup from step 2 with Tools -> Restore
