This is a scanned image so the scan date is not important. I want to see the date the original picture was made. Do I need to do something else?

When I use the re-date function (shit-ctrl-D) I enter a new date in this panel
After I save meta data to file, I look at the image file in Explorer but don't see the new date in there.

Now that I look closer, I see that the JPG versions do have a new file date, it's the TIF files that didn't change. Is that normal?
