split screen scrolling

Is it possible to show the thumbnails in a split screen mode?

I have a bunch (13,000) images in a project. Some are similar based on visual content only. Names, dates and other metadata are different. For each potential candidate i would like toe scroll through the other images to find similar ones and then modify some values to keep them together when sorting.

I suppose I could open another image viewing program to also show the images but is it possible to do it within PSu?

You can open two instances of PSu using the same catalog.
