Managed to fix it on my system :-)

As I suspected the registry entry for lightroom was incorrect, probably due to installing a new version of LR (I switched to CC not too long ago) and then uninstalling an older one...
I exported the relevant registry key. Unzip attached file, then double click on the .reg file and confirm you want to import it.

Hope this works for you too...

EDIT: I may have been a bit too quick... it's only 'sort of' working. LR starts, but that's about it...
EDIT 2: removed zip; use the one in @weidmic's post below

@weidmic:
Can you export registry key HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\lightroom and either list it here or upload it as a file?

Dirk,

Now that you have changed your registry, does the utility work properly if Lightroom CC is already open before running the utility? I ask because that was the requirement when using it on your and my system with the Lightroom that had the perpetual license.

Mine still had a problem, but it works with Michael's (@weidmic) registry settings (see post above).
Lightroom has to be open for it to work properly. If it's not open it will at best show the 'choose source' screen.

Great! I will save this reg file together with the plugin...
Hopefully the plugin will still work with future releases of LR, since the develper disappeared somehow.

As Adobe's Principal Evangelist Julieanne Kost would say, "Excellent!" File Listener now also works on my system now that I have run Michael's utility that tweaks the registry. Thank you to Dirk for getting the tweak started and to Michael for putting the final touches on it.

Hi, a couple of questions for File Listener users:

Lightroom has to be open? Yes, it appears.

Does the photo already have to be present in Lightroom's catalog?

If yes, does the Import window appear or is it bypassed?

If no, does the Import window appear?

Does it work when several files are selected?

When several files are selected do they appear as a group, a collection, "filtered", in Lightroom? Or just highlighted files among many?

Thanks.

Sorry, but I don't know enough about Lightroom to answer that question. That's because I maintain no files in a Lightroom catalog and don't know the proper terminology in Lightroom-speak.
