Problem with versioning

Post by Larry56 » 05 Jan 15 18:16

I have two images, one a raw and the other a jpg as a version of the raw. When I select them and then Version Selected Files the jpg always is the main and the raw is the version. Seems to me it should be the other way around?

I have options setting to version on first found raw.

Am I misunderstanding how this works or is it user error (again)?

There's a setting that determines that :)

Take a look at Preferences -> Catalog -> Catalog settings -> Main version detection method

I think I have it set correctly. Right? This setting ends up showing jpg as main version.

At least I think I'm reading it correctly. Clicking on the "*" shows "Main version:" and the the file name of jpg.

"albumdisplay" is not "Main"! You need to look higher up in this dialog for "main version detection method" and set it to First RAW Found. If you want to assign the "albumdisplay" placeholder it has to be the jpeg.

OK. Thanks. I fixed it.

I think I was also confused when I selected from the context menu Version Selected Files the jpg is shown as main but when I select Version Detection then the RAW is the main.
