Morning,
For an image I have set the date taken as "3 jan 1918". This is shown under the thumb using "%d %mmm %yyyy". Same date is also displayed in the Re-date panel.
But the Info panel shows "2011:06:21". This may be the day when I scanned this image.
What are the true names behind these 3 places of "date"?
Why are the dates not same?
What "date" does the View panel sort on when it says "Photo Date"?
Regards Harald

Re: What date in Info Panel
The general purpose "photo date" is constructed as:
first XMP's exif:DateTimeOriginal
if not exists XMP's exif:DateTimeDigitized
If not exists XMP's tiff:DateTime
if not exists EXIF's date time original
if not exists EXIF's date time digitized
if not exists EXIF's base date (0x132)
if not exists File Last Modification Date
Info Panel shows XMP's exif:DateTimeDigitized
first XMP's exif:DateTimeOriginal
if not exists XMP's exif:DateTimeDigitized
If not exists XMP's tiff:DateTime
if not exists EXIF's date time original
if not exists EXIF's date time digitized
if not exists EXIF's base date (0x132)
if not exists File Last Modification Date
Info Panel shows XMP's exif:DateTimeDigitized

Re: What date in Info Panel
Thanks,
That explains the difference in dates.
What about the "%d %mmm %yyyy" under the thumb? Is it constructed like the "photo date"?
Regards, Harald

Yes, the macros are based on the PhotoDate
