No trial available?

Is there really no trial version available of the released version?

Do you really expect people to buy a product without having the opportunity to thoroughly test the software? I know that the beta version has been out for a couple of months, but from the forum activity I guess that not that many people (compared to the potential custom base) tested the product. The beta version had a number of "bugs, missing features, flaws" that you don't expect from a final version and without knowing if these have been taken care of I guess that many people (I for one) will refrain from buying the product.

That's ok Hans.

Btw; Despite of what you have seen here, Photo Supreme is the most thoroughly tested piece of software that we ever released. That took place behind the scenes.

While I am sure that the program is very nice, I would have liked a demo. I downloaded another demo for a similar product today and found it did something I did not want it to do. I also will not purchase your product. I cannot afford to spend that much money on a product that may not be useful to me. Thanks.

I have to agree with others here.

I'm desperately looking for a good DAM and my demands are not very high. I will not use it for my photos but for my digital art which consists mostly .jpg's and png's. I have about 75000 -100000 files.
I do have Lightroom that I use for my photos but want a different catalog program for my art files.

Tried ACDSEE, that does have a trial version for 30 days, thank God. The first 50000 files went smooth and I figured the comments in the forum must have been from people who did heavy photo work instead just cataloging. The complaint was that there was a memory issue. I was happy all went smooth with me and I was ready to make a purchase. Than all of a sudden it all slowed down and I got beach ball after beach ball spinning, a quick look learned me that ACDSEE was using 150% of my cpu. To make a long story short, my database was only 11GB and the software could not deal with that and than to think I almost purchased it.

I do not want to make that same mistake again so a trial version is highly needed. I almost think that manufactures who do not offer trial versions have something to hide ;-)

Hert; you state that PS does not offer a Mac trial version, can you give a reason why not? If the software is as good as you claim it can only get you more customers instead of less, right? Mac people who are used to trial or demo version will now turn away and won't take a risk, I mean $79 is still a lot of money.

Would love to hear the philosophy behind the decision not to offer a trial or demo.

Thanks,
xtine
