IDimager 5.0.3 is released (maintenance release)

Post by Hert » 28 Jan 10 11:19

This version fixes a major bug during the import process. It is highly recommended to upgrade to 5.0.3.

The main changes in this version are:

Improvements:
Added an "Append recipe from file" option to the Recipe Panel of the Image Editor
The active filter is maintained between invocations
You can now drag/drop labels to the content area of a Catalog Label Set; in addition to D&D to the set's caption

Fixes:
When editing images then the edits would not always display correctly when Color Management was switched ON
The settings for a resize in a recipe weren't persistent
Fixed a bug in the sort routines that caused an error when using the ascending/descending sort switch icon while the Random Sort is active
Fixed an issue that caused a file's metadata to be rewritten during import when the option to create folder labels was selected in the Import Dialog

Thanks Hert. One question though: the new option for better quality interpolation in the fullscreen viewer is not in this version, right? I couldn't find it.

Yes, it is but it's a only available with a tweak.

1. Run this little script with F9:

Code: Select all

Options.ImageViewerQuality := ivqBest;
2. Then open the Options dialog (Tools -> Options)
3. In the Options dialog, click Apply

Do you notice the difference? If so, do you notice the performance hit?

Unfortunately it doesn't work. After running the script and applying the options, IDI freezes on image opening. I waited for 10 seconds, then killed it in task manager. Tried again, no avail - switched back to good quality. Something is not working. Any ideas why?

Same Here.

But what I also noticed is that with a single image and a frozen grey screen (my image background is normally black) the window resize bar - present when you select multiple images and lighttable them, was visible at the top of my screen.

Dear Hert,

maybe I'm to blind or just stupid ;-), but where can I find the update? The automatic update check in IDimager returns no result and I can't neither find any related download here nor at the main site.

Kind regards

Mark

Mark,
when you login to your account (https://cp.idimager.com) you should be able to download the newest version of IDimager...

I had the same result - created a frozen gray screen.

How do you undo the script?

In the options just switch back to another interpolation quality.

Sveto,

Thanks for this. I assume the specific change is "Tools->Options->Image Viewing/Editing->Image Viewer Optimised For". In the thread above it's a little unclear.

Hi Hert,
is there a way to generally subscribe to the "new version announcements" in the IDI forum. I have the auto update check off because it really slows down startup because of my poor internet connection. Thus I sometimes miss these announcements here. I would like to be able to subscribe to them.
Cheers,
Frank
