Re: Migrating from IDimager V5 SQLServer to Photo Supreme

Dmitri, Best would be to first convert to V5-Desktop and then use that database for PSU. Hert Hert - can you expand on how to do this? I'm running V5 SQLServer too, and just wasted a hour trying to figure out how to migrate my catalog to Supreme only to find out here I have to convert to "IDI deskt...

Re: IDimager RSS feed no longer working with Google Reader

Thanks Hert but I've tried all variations of your suggestion. I have 15 GR subscriptions & only the IDimager subscription has this problem. It has become unusable because I get 500+ new posts every day. Only a few are real, the others are just duplicates. It doesn't sound like anyone else is having ...

IDimager RSS feed no longer working with Google Reader

For the last month of so Google Reader is showing me 100's of *new* RSS items each day for http://forum.idimager.com/rss.php. Clearly most of them are not new. Google Reader is getting confused with the RSS feed. Up until a month ago I never had any problems. What changed with rss.php about a month ...

Re: Why can't I drag a file to a different folder

Agreed Mike, but in this case there is a 1:1 correspondance between Catalog Explorer > Catalog Folders & Media Browser folders. The latter is almost redundant.

Why can't I drag a file to a different folder

I simply want to move a file from one folder to another folder. I have 2 folders which are both cataloged. I have a file which is cataloged in one of the folders. I display the file & folder from Catalog Explorer > Catalog Folders. When I drag the file from the folder to the other folder the mouse c...

Re: how to remove individual files from a portfolio collecti

Mike, Lars, DirkS, thanks to you all. I haven't had time to check this yet (it's on my home PC, I'm emailing from work) but I reckon I did uncheck the "Ask for confirm before deleting images" a while back; and indeed the implications of doing this were not clear/ not what I would have thought (from ...

Re: how to remove individual files from a portfolio collecti

Thanks Mike & Dirk. I haven't tried a Reset All "don't ask again" yet however I can now confirm that no message box was displayed when I pressed the Delete key for a selected file in a portfolio. Steps from scratch were: 1) created new folder in Windows Explorer 2) created a test file in this folder...

Re: how to remove individual files from a portfolio collecti

I think you've understood my question well although upon re-reading my original post it could have been better worded, but its clear now from your reply (unless I was doing the delete while half asleep) that I didn't get a messagebox with the 3 options you mention, the file was removed from the port...

Re: how to copy selected files to Windows clipboard

Mike - that must be the most thorough reply (3 actually) ever posted to these forums? I thought I'd searched all through your workbook on the subject but obvious I hadn't. I haven't tried your suggestions yet but clearly there are options there. I prefer the keyboard for the bulk of my work rather t...

how to copy selected files to Windows clipboard

In the Catalog or Media Explorer I simply want to select a bunch of files, press ctrl+C to copy them to the clipboard, then go to Windows Explorer, select a folder (such as on a Flash drive), and ctrl+V to paste the original files there. Is there a way to do this seemingly simple operation? It appea...

how to remove individual files from a portfolio collection

If I delete a portfolio collection the files still remain catalogued - as I’d expect. However if I delete an individual (or selected) files from a portfolio collection the files are also removed from the catalogue. So the question is: how do I remove individual file(s) from a portfolio collection wi...

Re: Group thumbnails by...

Frank - I've moved from ACDSee to IDimager too. I have no regrets although it took a very considerable amount of work to migrate my meta data. It was a shame to 'loose' the flexibility/ configurability of the ACDSee detail-view. Instead the IDimager detail-view (as opposed to thumb nail view) has co...

Re: Renaming macro language

Mike & Hert – thanks for both your tips. There is so much to learn about this great product. I know it’s off topic but I was able to add a useful (for me) line to the hover info: Headline: <ind x="80"><b>%xmp:photoshop:Headline</b><br> You can select macro commands almost anywhere they can be used b...

Re: Renaming macro language

Although macros are mentioned in lots of places in the IDimager help file, and the "Workbook" I've never seen a proper list of them anywhere, only snippets in forum posts, why is that? I wanted to add some fields to the hover tip in the catalog explorer eg. to display image caption.
