how to remove individual files from a portfolio collection

If I delete a portfolio collection the files still remain catalogued - as I’d expect. However if I delete an individual (or selected) files from a portfolio collection the files are also removed from the catalogue. So the question is: how do I remove individual file(s) from a portfolio collection wi...

Re: Group thumbnails by...

Frank - I've moved from ACDSee to IDimager too. I have no regrets although it took a very considerable amount of work to migrate my meta data. It was a shame to 'loose' the flexibility/ configurability of the ACDSee detail-view. Instead the IDimager detail-view (as opposed to thumb nail view) has co...

Re: Renaming macro language

Mike & Hert – thanks for both your tips. There is so much to learn about this great product. I know it’s off topic but I was able to add a useful (for me) line to the hover info: Headline: <ind x="80"><b>%xmp:photoshop:Headline</b><br> You can select macro commands almost anywhere they can be used b...

Re: Renaming macro language

Although macros are mentioned in lots of places in the IDimager help file, and the "Workbook" I've never seen a proper list of them anywhere, only snippets in forum posts, why is that? I wanted to add some fields to the hover tip in the catalog explorer eg. to display image caption.

Re: IDImager 5.1.1.1 Update Insuffcient Memory

I have upgraded from SQL Server edition 5.1.0.0 to 5.1.1.1. The upgrade seemed to go ok, I got the usual dialogbox to enter the database password, although I didn't see any messagebox regards "Optimizing Database" that other users have mentioned, and the View | Details, View | Thumbs etc. menu items...

Re: modify photo date/time (esp. AVI/ PDF files)

Hi Andy, Mike Phillips, Hert, Thanks for all the comments and suggestions. Things aren't quite that simple. I have now established a mapping for JPG files from ACDSee to IPTC & EXIF fields which can then be synchronized with IDimager (except the Rating field which is read from xap:Rating rather than...

Re: modify photo date/time (esp. AVI/ PDF files)

>Can't ACDSee write the metadata keywords in the standard defined field for this in the XMP specs (dc:subject)?? that's a question only the ACDSee programming team could answer, I didn't write their program, I'm just trying to move away from it >From your sample it looks like ACDSee writes its keyw...

Re: modify photo date/time (esp. AVI/ PDF files)

Thanks for the thoughtful reply Andy. Much appreciated. I consistently used Batch Set Info, and all the PDF/ AVI/ other files are either embedded ACDSee XML or sidecar files. For example here is a sidecar for an AVI file: <x:xmpmeta xmlns:x="adobe:ns:meta/" x:xmptk="Public XMP Toolkit Core 3.5"> <rd...

modify photo date/time (esp. AVI/ PDF files)

Can someone tell me how to modify the value in the Photo Date/Time column when viewing details? I can modify the Date Content Created field for JPG files but NOT for AVI and PDF files. Why the distinction? In any case it appears to be independent of any/all the fields when Image Details are displaye...
