Re: Picture quality very bad

What you see is the result of your monitor profile that you configured as the output profile. Is this a calibrated monitor and is this the profile that was created by the calibration process? If so then what you see are the correct colors. If this is a profile that came deployed with the monitor and...

Re: Picture quality very bad

In your Color Management settings you've set the Monitor Profile as your input profile *and* as the output profile. That is incorrect. Set the input profile to sRGB. The Output profile is the profile that is used to present the image and that is your monitor profile. Here's how it looks compared to ...

Re: Main Version Detection Method

A warm welcome to the forum.

I haven't tried it here, but my first thought is as illustrated below.
Extend the list of extensions with file extensions you want to detect:

In addition, the color difference: make sure that you have color management switched ON. And that your output profile is configured exactly the same as in Bridge. And, as snowman1 suggests, if you have the Viewer configured to display previews then make sure that you also build thumbs/previews with ...

Re: Is increase of database after area detection comprehensible?

In an existing catalog I would expect that "Veryfy folder all" will find any difference in metadata between what is stored in the catalog and what is stored in the metadata of the image itself. After Verify I should be able to decide if I want to read the imagedata to the catalog or the other way a...

Re: Moving Versioned Files

The best way is to use the rename feature and rename your files to a new folder. You don't mention your platform, but on Windows that would be a rename rule like: C:\TargetDirectory\%FileFolderName\%FileName.%FileExtension On macOS: /TargetVolume/TargetDirectory/%FileFolderName/%FileName.%FileExtens...

when they are selected as a group. However, selecting each one separately shows the data to be present. Is this intended behavior? When you say "selected as a group", do you then mean you select one thumb? Selecting one version thumb will only select that one file, not the version set. To work on a...

Re: Is increase of database after area detection comprehensible?

So my expectation is, that PSU wrote the latest informations into the files (XMP and ICS). The out-of-sync indicator is something that PSU keeps. If metadata in the file changes afterwards then PSU has no knowledge about that. If you want to be sure that what PSU has in its catalog is in the metada...

Re: offline usage

PSU needs to test the availability of your drive. To do so, PSU asks the Operating System if a volume is available. How long the OS takes to test/respond may differ per volume but typically it is blazingly fast. That is outside of PSU's control.
PSU offers "Travel" mode for the complete catalog only.

Re: Adjust panel: rotation: recipe applied twice?

I was able to reproduce this. Apparently it happens when you open in Adjust mode from inside the View mode. It doesn't happen when opening in Adjust mode directly from the thumbnail. This will be fixed

Re: Is increase of database after area detection comprehensible?

but before I need to figure out a way to have my stacks somehow saved Stacks are part of ICS and is written to metadata if you have ICS writing ON (the default). ICS is your extra "catalog backup". Before importing your new images, make sure to enable ICS reading. Then after all images are imported...

Re: what does the new light table lock option do?

The lock option is there for more advanced culling. Here's a use case: let's say you have a set of 30 images and would like to make a top-5 pick. So you select the first 5 images and open the Light table. If there's no winner in those 5 then click the -> button to open the next 5 images. Now you fin...

I expect that you have set a custom root folder. Can you try to right click on a top node, then untick "Make this the root folder".

I see that here too.
That is not an error. It's a left over message that should have been removed.
It will be displayed after adding a new batch effect in the Batcher. You can ignore it.

Re: Poof crashes / instability

You can create a PostgreSQL backup as described in the Maintenance manual.
But you can create a second catalog in your database with a different name so that the old one also stays available. But creating a backup of the catalog database is always recommended.
