Re: Remove thumb from portfolio w/o deleting in collection

Thanks Tom. Yes I agree, portfolios don't contain the images. I'm sure in the past I could remove the association between a collection image and a portfolio. Surely if I can add it to a portfolio I should be able to remove it, without deleting the image from the collection?? It also seems the "do no...

Remove thumb from portfolio w/o deleting in collection

I'm sure I used to be able to do this... how do I remove a thumbnail from a portfolio without deleting it from the underlying collection? I have also clicked on Help > Reset all "Don't ask questions" just in case, but no luck, I'm not asked. Each time now when I delete a thumbnail from a portfolio i...

Re: File Listener with Supreme, Lightroom CC & Windows 10

Can you add 1st line to batch file: "echo on"
and last line: "pause"
then figure out the error message from where the batch file stops?

Windows 10 and PDF Thumbnails

By default 64-bit Windows 10 Home (and probably other W10 versions) doesn't display a PDF file preview in Windows Explorer when viewing as icons. My trick with Windows XP was to install Adobe Reader. Note that a "preview handler" and "thumbnail handler" is required (maybe just the latter) for PSu to...

Re: Windows 10 compatability

I know this is a little unrelated sorry but I finally migrated from Windows XP to 10. A big radical/ risky jump. I found my copy of Photoshop CS was no longer supported - the program runs fine, but Adobe will not allow it to be activated, so after 30 days I will be locked out. I was happy with the v...

Re: why is "building similarity data" necessary

hmmm, thanks for both your replies, but 100% sure I had latest V3.1.0.2067 running on both computers. I simply copied the catalog & thumb database files from one computer to the other, so each computer should have had exactly the same data. What is Similarity Data and can it be disabled because the ...

why is "building similarity data" necessary

I've just copied the PSu catalog & thumb databases from my working PC to a netbook for offline use while away. The first activity that has sprung to life is a very time consuming "building similarity data". Why is this activity necessary when the databases should be identical? All I'm wanting to do ...

Re: Phrase search: How to use quotes in the search bar?

Stefan - how do we "vote" on bugs? My understanding is that the search text is passed to the underlying database FTS (Free Text Search) engine, where the search rules are beyond the control of PSu. For example with SQlite my understanding is that double quote characters are treated as token delimite...

Was re-dating in Grid view using key combination ctrl+shift+D added in 3.0.3.2066? I notice it now works! Bravo.

Re: Re-date Panel advice needed

Malcolm asked "I have noticed that the re-date panel (CTRL-SHIFT-D) only appears on the thumbnail view, not in the detail view"

It would be a small but excellent improvement for some. I asked once before a time time ago too.

Re: Photo Supreme, an alternative to Paperless or Paperport?

I tried using PSu as a more general document management system for a few years, mainly for PDF files, but also for Microsoft Office document files. PDFs work well with PSu because Adobe generates a nice thumbnail for each one just like a JPG. However I gave up in the finish because it was simply too...

Re: V3: After refreshing folder, switches to catalog view

After I do a folder Verify a new tab is created with the verified files but the original folder tab is preserved. I think its a neat idea now that multiple tabs are supported.

Re: Malcontent Search Bar

New users log bugs in Matis without moaning about it. I really try not to sound like I'm moaning. I'm a programmer and use ticketing/ bug reporting systems on a daily basis. They are essential for any serious products development. Mantis says I've logged 99 bugs. I have spent a considerable amount ...

Re: Malcontent Search Bar

I'm glad this forum topic hadn't instead been placed in Mantis. It is an interesting topic, I think I learnt something, and (as I've commented at least once before) I would imagine far fewer people would view Mantis bugs than discussions in this forum. It is often far from clear whether an issue is ...
