Re: Setting parent level labels
IIRC, "assign all parent labels" takes effect only going forward (for future assignments). I would advise you to select all images which have "bananas" already assigned, then unassign that label and assign it again. Hope that helps, Vlad That fits with my experience. Let us hope this does not drive...

Re: Do you backup thumbnail database?
I backup both databases after working on a large selection of images. I also backup before and after I compact/repair the DB's. I always run a back up before installing a PSu update.

Re: Speed
Ole, With only 3 GB of RAM, you are pushing the system pretty hard. You may be able to help things out by disabling applications that run at startup. There's a nice little free program called CCleaner that will allow you to disable startup programs. Also, you have very little free space on your HD. ...

Re: Catalogue hierarchy
When I started looking for a DAM, having previously used Adobe Bridge for some minor things metadata oriented, I finally chose IDImager and then upgraded to PSu. I am guess I am one of the lucky ones since I don't use LR or C1 and PSu alone does the job for me. ...that data portability is a goal not...

Re: slow startup time
I just looked at my PSu stats: 177MB Cat db, 6.1 GB Thumbs db, 5000 images--no videos, only a few geotagged. Start time is a little over 3 seconds. I had three apps open: MS Edge, FireFox and MS Outlook when I opened PSu. Your computer specs looks decent. Question: Do you have a bunch of apps that r...

Re: Why Photo Supreme?
I do not use Lightroom, Capture One, or Adobe Bridge. Because of this, I started using ID Imager, which later became Photo Supreme as a way to manage my images. Honestly, there are too many features that I use in PSu to enumerate here, but I will say they suit my me very well and in a stable and res...

Re: Login Credentials
So my question is, for the single-user version of PSu, why is an additional password needed? Phil, if memory serves correctly, the Windows user account password is stored in the registry in encrypted form, so it would be difficult to extract and use for PSu. Therefore, it makes sense to me that Her...

Re: Login Credentials
I just looked at the Login screen. You can change the password, but the Username field cannot be edited. So, the answer is no. You can set the Login to log you in automatically by checking the "Remember my password" box on the login dialog box. If you do change the password, be sure to write it down...

Re: Network & Reliability?
I've had no need to use email support, so can't comment on that, however you will find that this forum is normally very responsive and helpful in resolving most problems. Same here, and I have found the forum to be quite helpful. Also, Hert, the PSu developer does answer questions posted in the for...

Hert, can I assume V 3.3 will be a free update once beta testing is completed?

Re: Strange color no color management
Could the problem be the configured output profile in the Color Management dialog? That would be my guess, too, Mike. My input color profile is sRGB and I have my output color profile set to the icc profile for my monitor. The check box, "Use color management to generate thumbnails" is unchecked. A...

Re: Purge Unused Keywords Version 19.8
I bought it on sale before school started from Apple Store 9/1/13 version 1.9.2 (4+) and updated it from the Apple Store 11/7/13 to version 1.9.8.175 I missed a period. Sorry. So my version now is 1.9.8.175 Is there a quicker way to purge unused keywords? Sorry for the delay and wrong version numbe...

Re: Purge Unused Keywords Version 19.8
I am having trouble figuring this out, too. Can you post a screenshot of the UI, Bert?
Also, if you remember, is this where you downloaded the application? http://www.idimager.com/WP/?page_id=20 ?
Here is the IDImager Home page. Does this look familiar? http://www.idimager.com/WP/
