Re: Tips for working with Photo Supreme

You can display the pixel dimensions of an image by doing the following... Click the View button Under View Settings, be sure Show Custom Thumb Info is checked You can the add the following to an existing Custom Thumb Info line, or create a new line. %ImageDimension px The "px" is simple text I adde...

Re: Info Panel Questions

Jim and Tom,

Good detective work, gents!

It will be interesting to hear what Hert has to say about what you've discovered.

Re: Info Panel Questions

But; this dpi "resize feature" then went off to live a life of its own because the average Photoshop user started to think that dpi is a relevant image attribute, which it isn't...DPI is an attribute of an output device. So true! I think Hert's explanation should clear things up in this regard. Now...

Re: Info Panel Questions

Thanks, Hert.

As a purely academic exercise, I'll do a little further research into the meta data as seen by Photoshop to see why the dpi values don't agree.

Is anyone else seeing this?

Re: Poll; What Camera Brand are you shooting with?

Chamonix 4x5. Color transparency and color neg. Film scanned using a Microtek ArtixScan 1800f @1800ppi and VueScan software. Images processed in Photoshop CS6.

Sometimes I'll shoot a few with my ancient Nikon D70, but the vast majority of my work is large format.

Info Panel Questions

I have a few questions about the Info Panel: What does "AWB" stand for? Why would the dpi for an 1800 ppi PSD file be shown as 72 dpi? Why is a 360 ppi PSD file show as 72 dpi in the IP? Why would the dpi for a JPEG be shown as 96 dpi when Photoshop shows it as 72 ppi? When I select a TIFF file that...

Re: Inverting Selection Keyboard Shortcut?

I will do a feature request on Mantis. And no need to mention IDimager in this context because why would you expect things work the same in different tools? If they do work the same in some areas then that's nice but things never work a certain way in PSU "because it works like that in IDImager". Be...

Inverting Selection Keyboard Shortcut?

I am dense. I know that, and my friends fight for the right to tell me so, but I have a question... Let's say I have fifty images and only want to keep a few of them. What I would like to do is select the one's I want to keep, invert the selection and then delete the newly selected images. Is there ...

License Question

Hi Hert, I took advantage of the recent discount and have installed PSu on my desktop. I must say that I like it! I'm still getting used to doing things differently than the way they were done in IDI, but overall I am pleased. The 64-bit version runs nicely on my Win-7 computer. I also have a new la...

Re: Differences in appearance of rendered jpegs

Mike and Tom, First, your output profile should be the same as the embedded profile. You don't want your monitor governing your color, especially if you are going to print the image(s). What happens is this: Let's say you have an image in ProPhoto RGB. If your monitor does not have the native respon...

Re: file-manager

The lack of a file manager in PSU, akin to the Media Browser in IDI, is a deal killer for me. I am in total agreement with others who have stated that IDI is "The DAM Tool"--a cut above all the rest. It is sad that it was killed (sacrificed?). It was (is?) my hope that Hert and crew will relent and ...

Re: IDimager Public Beta for MacOSX

Hi Hert,

I posted a link to this forum topic and a link to the main IDImager site at Nature Photographers Network (NPN) to let everyone there know about the IDI beta for Mac, and IDI in general.

All the best to you, and thanks for a great program!
