Re: Monitoring a folder

You don't want all new images stored in a single folder while previous images are filed in a user desire structure. Eventually those "new" images have to be filed in the appropriate subfolders which means verifying those folders anyway. I have the same issue and would love a feature that automatica...

I absolutely don't want to be pushy about this, but will a fix be available in the not-so-far-away future?

Kind regards
Germie

How did you copy in PSU?
and also, what are your synchronisation settings?

Re: Photos with only privat labels / keywords

I haven't checked, but I think an easier way would be to use one option in preferences rather than changing the properties of every label.

Re: Keyword Processing Options

[snip] If the above is correct...now my Read Settings for keyword processing currently set to Merge. If I understand this, when I sync all my images, any keywords that are written to the image, but that are not catalog labels in my database, will show up as new catalog labels in my database, is tha...

Re: Moving Photos around among Folders

.... makes various ad-hoc changes to attributes including file names, metadata etc .... As Mke said, if you do everything from within PSU all should be well. If you only move files around then the steps Mke suggested should be sufficient. However, if you start changing filenames or metadata outside...

Re: Adding a rating (sometimes?) causes tags and descriptions to disappear

Exif and IPTC from the file are converted to XMP (all are metadata ) in the database during import provided that there is no XMP already in the file. If PSu detects that XMP already exists in the file then reconversion/further conversion does not happen automatically. If other applications hav...

Re: New User's Interface questions

Rest assured, plenty of users have many, many more than 25k images in a single PSu catalog. The "explorer" panel on the left can easily be hidden. Find the "View" button towards the top of the screen and on the right. Click it and then click on "Maximized". At the top of the panel you should see but...

It might be helpful if you would post, or link to, the actual jpeg file so that we (forum members) can download it and try it with our own settings.

Re: Q: Minor flaws to be reported in Mantis?

PSu is a commercial application and any language support offered should be correct and clear to the users choosing that language. I am sure that Hert would agree, but probably would not prioritise language corrections over bug fixes. By entering your observations into Mantis you are helping Hert to ...

Re: Which date is which?

This is an unconfirmed guess. Many dates may be recorded in metadata. PSu has a set of rules to determine which of them is used as the "photo date", as summarised in http://forum.idimager.com/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=22960&p=103498&hilit=photo+date#p103498. From this you can see that if "date taken", "d...

I believe that if you enable writing and reading of the ICS schema during sync that portfolios should be recreated as the relevant images are imported.

Re: A few newby questions

To extend what Tom has said: 1. If you want to see only one version "stack" when you have raw+jpeg pairs in the same folder and are using folder view then you can achieve this very simply by filtering for "type". 2. By default star ratings and colour labels apply only to individual members of a vers...
