Re: Photo Supreme and Serif Affinity

I use Affinity with Photo Supreme on PC. Supreme creates thumbnails for and indexes the Affinity files as you would expect. It opens the files directly in Affinity, which is perfect. If you browse the files in Supreme, Photo Supreme seems to use its stored thumbnail and not open the file directly to...

Re: images added via verify do not show up

Sorry. I did not look too close at the screenshot. As to why the offline old F drive is not red is beyond my simple knowledge of drive behaviour in PS. Someone more knowledgable will need to explain why the offline drive is not red. You can see that the two F drives have different numbers in the squ...

Re: images added via verify do not show up

Ahh. You got caught by this as well. It is very logical when you understand what is going on. Photo Supreme recognises each drive uniquely. Despite your old internal drive being F: and the new external drive being F:, Photo Supreme knows that they are different physical drives and treats them as dif...

Re: Fast Picture Viewer Pro for fast cull before import into PSu?

Frank, I am aware of the DAM book but have not read it. I have read lots of websites/forums debating the 'correct' way to catalogue photos and they all quote the DAM book. I came up with my workflow many years ago when I thought I would do a lot more outside PSU than I have ever done. As I thought I...

Re: Fast Picture Viewer Pro for fast cull before import into PSu?

Funny you should question renaming files. My current workflow ends with renaming the photos to the headline as this clearly shows the cataloguing is complete plus allows me to share photos externally with other applications and people with photos clearly identified by the headline (subject of photo)...

Re: Fast Picture Viewer Pro for fast cull before import into PSu?

The script does not explicitly handle multiple versions but handles versions perfectly for me. First, it is not really 'my' script. Hert wrote the original script which I adapted to my script to rename files based on the headline and now I have adapted to rename files based on the photo time. The sm...

Re: Fast Picture Viewer Pro for fast cull before import into PSu?

Good news Phil. I have the rename script working correctly. This script will rename any selected photos to the format YYYY-MM-DD--sequ. If files of this format already exist in the directory, the renamed file will use the next available sequence. If the file name is already of the correct format, th...

Re: Fast Picture Viewer Pro for fast cull before import into PSu?

Thanks Hert, but this does not fix the issue. The issue is just bizzare. If I add the code result:='Fred(001).JPG'; to the end of my 'rename file from headline' rename script, it renames the file to Fred(001).JPG as expected. If I add the same code to the end of the 'rename File to date sequence' re...

Re: Fast Picture Viewer Pro for fast cull before import into PSu?

Alright. I decided to get back into scripting and try to help Phil. First, I updated my rename script which renames photos to "Headline (sequence)" so that it intelligently renames and only renames if necessary and closes up any gaps it finds. It is now safe to run this rename script over and over a...

Re: Fast Picture Viewer Pro for fast cull before import into PSu?

My rename script to rename photos based on Headline followed by a sequence number is here. http://forum.idimager.com/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=24291#p113597 It is not what you require but you can have a play to see the power of the scripting functionality. It allows you to do anything you require if you ...

Re: Fast Picture Viewer Pro for fast cull before import into PSu?

Phil, I don't use any of these programs, so I can't offer you an opinion on the use, BUT, your actual issue seems to be with your desired file name convention yyyy-mm-dd--seqn4 having gaps. If this is your only issue with PS, you can achieve this without using other programs. My workflow ends up wit...

Re: After emailing photo get this strange error message

I just emailed some photos from PS and I got the exact same error message but the email was sent successfully. I am still running 3.3.0.2570 64 bit on Windows 10 with Outlook 2010 as the default mail client. I have been using this email configuration in Photo Supreme since the early versions without...

Re: Another Batch Script not working since upgrade

Phil, you are absolutely correct that lack of documentation is not limited to Photo Supreme. I am finding more and more advanced functionality is unusable in phones, cameras, TVs or software due to lack of documentation. In defence of Hert and the manufacturers, it is very difficult and time consumi...

Re: Another Batch Script not working since upgrade

Ok. I have worked it out between the hints Hert has provided and the Script API Document. The rename script now handles single quotes in the Headline. The key is to use ImageItem.XMPValue('photoshop:headline') rather than the original '%ImageName' or ImageItem.ParseMacros('%xmp:photoshop:headline', ...

Re: Another Batch Script not working since upgrade

You are correct that this is indeed a rename script. Sorry for getting this wrong. I have been using this rename script since I migrated from IdImager to Photo Supreme and it always renamed the about 20% of my photos that include single quotes. I can only guess that %ImageName automatically changed ...
