Re: Quick fix for lens info written in different formats
Hert, i started to test with the one cr2+jpg, but the exif tag' 0xA434' does not exist before i updated in the 'lens information' (in Details > Technical section), so Photo Supreme has nothing to update in the exif section. You already provided the reason, the tag' 0xA434' is only in Exif 2.3 spec. ...

Re: Question about Recipes
In details (panel) > XMP Advanded you find the 'iles' section. If you select the thumb where no Recipe Icon is displayed, and compare with one with recipe , do you notice a difference in the details?

Re: Nikon Vertical Images
Mike, My collection of nef files is limited, but it seems a nef-file altered by Nikon Capture NX2 is when converted to jpg is different when converting a nef straight from the camera to jpg. In Lightroom, this doesn't matter, the nef files exported to jpg are fine and do not require orientation corr...

Re: Nikon Vertical Images
Mike, i don't know for Nikon camera's, but on older Canon, disabling the auto rotation, will result in also not writing the orientation in the exif. Newer Canon models have 3 options for auto rotate OFF/Computer only/Camera + Computer. Immediately after shooting, the image is always displayed in 'no...

Re: Question about Recipes
Lippe here again and risking to be catalogized as stalker ;) The raw file is unaltered and the rotation is done by the Photo Supreme rotation recipe. So only Photo Supreme is aware of the image rotation. The jpg file is altered by a real rotation so there is not recipe even when synchronizing the fi...

Re: Nikon Vertical Images -- SOLVED
Mike, thanks. I enjoyed my espresso together with some Belgian cookies! Now I'm armed to get further digging in the Photo Supreme rotation. For testing purpose; i have copied the same beautiful-lady-nef and xmp-sidecar in to several subfolders and imported them in my catalog. Without even running th...

Re: Nikon Vertical Images
Mike, Some things i observed: I don't have a folder C:\users\Mike Buckley\... so i changed the folder to safe to the same folder. When running your batch on the example nef, it turned the nef thumb! While rebuilding the thumb will display it again correctly. there is something not right. The images ...

In the filter menu is 'Version sets' to filter all images with version. I invert the filter to get the not versioned images and get: 'Excluding filter states (Version Sets)' For future use, i want to save this filter and click the 'Save current filter' If i reuse the filter, i get ' filter states (V...

Re: Nikon Vertical Images
Photo Supreme is expecting when the EXIF rotation is written to the XMP rotation, both hold the same setting and should be synchronized. When Windows is reading the EXIF value, Photo Supreme is reading the XMP value... this will lead to the results you are experiencing. But when using tools that do ...

Re: Nikon Vertical Images
When using IDimager, I was able to simply rebuild the thumbnail and use the right bracket (]) key to correct the orientation. After doing that, the orientation was correct whether displayed in any of the Windows programs that are shipped with the OS or IDimager. Doing that, whether "saving" the rec...
