Moving the IDImager Folder in AppData?

I note that even though I have instructed PSU to install itself on the E: drive, it defaults to assuming that the AppData folder is on the C: drive, and installs all the PSU AppData stuff there. E.g. in my case in C:\Users\gcoup_000\AppData\Local\IDimager Systems, Inc. Now, all my user data (Documen...

Re: Edits not applied when using share to Flickr

PSU has a non-destructive editor, which means that you need to either create a new version of your edited image, or apply it to the original file and overwrite the original with the results of the edit. What you've uploaded to Flickr is the original file with a cropping recipe added to the metadata ...

Why on earth should they care? The end result is exactly the same, surely?

It's a flag to indicate that that particular section contains metadata. If there's no yellow flag, then that section is empty of metadata. > Al...

Re: Top level keywords; hiding

Delimited words are old. Today you get hierarchical keywords in the metadata by writing Lightroom keywords. Even if you don't use Lightroom. You didn't do anything wrong. The downside of delimited keywords is that no other tools will treat them as "hierarchical" which LR keywords are fully interope...

Re: Keywording Strategies

The next update (build .147) has this checkbox removed and replaced with a drop down that has 3 options: 1. Write as keyword 2. Don't write as keyword 3. Private for the Catalog I thought I was following this discussion, but now I'm lost. Does #3 mean that a Catalog label also won't be written as p...

Re: Importing people tags from WLPG

Simon, you might want to take a look at this blog entry of mine where I compare Picasa with WLPG . I look at various aspects of how they handle metadata. Bottom line is that neither are perfect. It looks as though Picasa is able to read in WLPG People tags, and possibly use them to create its people...

Re: Importing people tags from WLPG

WLPG uses an XMP schema that Microsoft defined some years ago. See the People Tagging Overview in the MSDN Library. That's OK as far as it goes, but if you want to pass people tags from WLPG to another program, then the receiving program has to be capable of interpreting the XMP and displaying the r...

Re: Batch Time adjustment

Andy, looking at your video, what you are missing is that in order to apply changes to a single, selected, image, you need to do step 3 in Hert's message above. That is, to apply the changes, you need to step away from your selected image by clicking on any other image... This confused me no end in ...

Re: How to correct the parents of false organized labels

Well, I don't know whether it's the "best" way, but the simplest way I've found is to simply Right-click on the label, and choose "Relocate this label". Start typing out the desired Parent label in the search box that appears (e.g. Au) until you see the Parent label come up in the list of results. C...

Re: Multiple placeholders differnt images

Nope again, I think. I don't use version sets, and I certainly wouldn't have manually invoked it on the folder, which only contains JPGs anyway. As I say, I'm at a loss to understand where most of my version sets come from. I can understand it for certain version sets, which indeed would have been c...

Re: Multiple placeholders differnt images

Hert, I simply imported photos from a folder into the new folder hierarchy. The old folder had been removed from the PSU Catalog before I did this. All the photos involved were JPGs.
