Re: Keywords - Delimited vs Simple
Geoff, I share your sentiment, which is why I'm asking these questions. However; just writing data to the files by itself does not necessarily prevent you from painting yourself into a corner. What you write to those files may have the same result. For instance, writing delimited keywords to the IP...

Re: Keywords - Delimited vs Simple
You are correct so long as you are using Supreme's database. If you use another program to search for keywords, that program will be searching the keywords embedded in the metadata fields, not Supreme's database. If you post your images on a website that allows users to search for keywords embedded...

Re: Keywords - Delimited vs Simple
My answer to question (1) is: Using delimited keywords enables keyword hierarchies. Why are keyword hierarchies useful? First, because they offer flexibility and grouping of similar items and concepts. For example, my keyword "cows" is actually part of a hierarchy that starts Nature/Animals/livestoc...

Re: Bind or Index Column out of Range (0) (0)
Hert, It looks as though all the images with the 1899-12-30 date as those that are also out-of-sync. So what I'm doing is to view By Date, and then select the 1899 date. Then I select a batch of images (not too many, or PS will hang!), and read in the metadata. That has the effect of putting the ima...

Re: Bind or Index Column out of Range (0) (0)
Hert, I've tried that - but PS is STILL not creating the Catalog labels, even though I have that option selected. I've found that if I do a batch, I'm lucky if even 1% of the images actually causes a label to get created... Oh, I should probably point out that I'm running W8 Release Preview - which ...

Re: Bind or Index Column out of Range (0) (0)
Hert, I've been able to reproduce the error with a fresh installation of PS, so I've uploaded the file to SkyDrive, and sent you a link. What I did: 1) Installed PS afresh. 2) Imported 50,000+ images using C:\Users\Geoff\Pictures as the root. 3) PS reported that 50,464 images had been imported. 4) T...

Windows 8 Touch Support?
Just curious about something here...
Does PS already support the new repertoire of touch gestures that are in Windows 8? Or is that something that will come in a later version?
Thanks.

Re: Selecting Multiple Images/Select All
Best way, and surest way, would be to report it via email to support@idimager.comtstoddard wrote:How do I report a bug?
Alternatively, post a new topic here in the forum, with the word "Bug" in the title - that will get Hert's attention...

Re: Bind or Index Column out of Range (0) (0)
Hert, I've already uninstalled and reinstalled PS a couple of times since the initial error.
Tomorrow I'll have a go at trying to recreate the error from a fresh start. If I get it, then I'll send through the file to you.
Thanks

Import Not Working For Me...
So I've come to the conclusion that trying to import my entire 50,000+ photos from the root C:\Users\Geoff\Pictures in one go simply won't work. PS stops responding, or gives me weird error messages . OK, so then I try importing a subset of folders. I choose the folders of photos taken this year, wh...

Re: file-manager
I have always had a lot of respect for Hert and his responsiveness to bugs and feature requests. It made IDI stand out in a market dominated by big software giants who bought, crippled then abandoned software. Sadly yesterday's announcement felt all too familiar and not what I have come to expect. +1

Re: file-manager
Craig, Will IDimager support continue & will outstanding bugs be addressed? IDimager is discontinued, so the answer is no. Well that's a real shame because you have killed off one of the best DAM systems a working professional could ask for and replaced it with a toy. I wish you luck with PSU, but ...

Bind or Index Column out of Range (0) (0)
Right, so I've: 1) Downloaded and installed the trial 2) Imported my pictures (50,000+) of them into PS. I have NOT imported my IDI V5 catalog into PS. 3) Noticed that the "Synchronise Service" activity seems to be stuck at 75% 4) Switched from the "By Category" view to the "By Folder" view 5) Tried...
