Do You Use PSU With Lightroom and DNG Files?

If you use PSU together with Lightroom (preferably version 5.3) and use DNG files in your workflow, then I'm asking for help. I'm seeing that LR5 does not seem to detect when DNG files have had their metadata edited by PSU, and does not flag such files as having been changed on disk. See Mantis issu...

Re: Coypright Statement

Hert, is the %yyyy supposed to resolve itself into the year? It just sticks in the string %yyyy for me...

BTW, I like the fact that the CC texts are automatically kept up to date via this button. Very useful.

Re: Coypright Statement

Oh, and I've only just noticed the clickable Creative Commons symbol that will insert boilerplate text. It should certainly have the author's name included. This CC button is new to me. I've always added my own CC conditions via my Profile.

Tom, the text varies according to country. See the Field Guide:

Re: 'Google not defined' message in GEO Panel

Strange - I haven't noticed any hurdles placed in my way of downloading or viewing. There certainly was an issue with RSS feeds in the Desktop version of IE11, but that has been resolved by an update from Microsoft.

Re: 'Google not defined' message in GEO Panel

Something a bit odd with Chip's setup: a Windows 8 PC should be running IE11 by default, not IE10. Certainly a Windows 8.1 PC will have IE11 installed out of the box. Perhaps Chip needs to do a Windows Update and install IE11 on his Windows 8 system. Edit: ah, scrap that... Windows 8 does have IE10;...

Re: Finding/preventing dublicate labels

If you create a new label by starting to type the label into the field at the top of the Assign panel (the one that says: "type a label name here"), then PSU will tell you if the label already exists somewhere in the Label hierarchy. For large, multilevel hierarchies, it may take a second or two to ...

Re: Can I enter a Title that Flickr will find

Tom, there are a number of fields in the metadata standards that are closely related, such as Title, Description, and Headline. What adds to the confusion is that implementers often interpret the standards in different ways. So to take a particularly irritating example, the Windows OS interprets the...

DNG Develop Tool - Help Me Decide?

After many years of just using JPGs, with the acquisition of my new Nokia Lumia 1020, I'm dipping my toe in the water of RAW and DNG files. So I need software to develop the digital negatives that I'm going to be producing. I'm currently looking at trial versions of both Lightroom 5 and Photo Elemen...

Re: idimager.thumbs.db - 40 GB size?

I think you can select the size of your thumb previews - which has an impact on the size of the thumbs database.

However, the main point is that you can move the thumbs database off your SSD. I had a similar issue, which Hert addressed. See http://forum.idimager.com/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=23082

Thanks Hert, I'll bear it in mind. But I think that by the time it becomes an issue, I will have upgraded my C: drive (or the entire system) in any case...

Re: Moving the IDImager Folder in AppData?

I moved the catalog files successfully. However, compacting the thumbs database (now on the E: drive) still uses the C: drive as a scratch area. That means sufficient space, the full size of the thumbs database, is still required on the C: drive. In my case, I had sufficient space this time around, ...

Re: Moving the IDImager Folder in AppData?

Thanks Hert. I wondered if that would be the trick. Good to have the confirmation.
