Selection of Photos on import

Hi, re. importing photos in v2. Is there any way to select and mark one or two photos for import. As near as I can tell, you can only mark/unmark a range of photos based on the date (or all or none or not in catalog). When I highlight a range of photos to mark for import, I can only 'mark all' - whi...

Re: v. v. slow import

did the trick - had to rebuild the profile, but that was OK I gather the profile keeps an index of the photos which have been imported under that profile, so it knows which have and haven't been ingested yet (e.g. on the memory card or whatever). I had opened up one profile, adjusted it, and saved i...

v. v. slow import

I don't know what's happened or changed. As of a couple weeks ago, the import module takes an impossibly long time to bring up the thumbnails for importing (1 hour+), and once thumbs have been selected for importing, the same thing again before the import category prompt. I'm running win 7 64, 8gb r...

Re: Recipes and Batches?

Thanks again. Sorry for prolonging this. I see no 'Apply Recipe' under the batch commands. There are 'recipe' 'recipe file' and 'recipe flattening' available each which require an output file. If its not resolveable - c'est la vie, however it would be hugely useful to me, to be able to batch add rec...

Re: Recipes and Batches?

OK - that works.

I note it rotates the file - I was hoping to simply add a recipe command, rather than save the file as rotated. Is this a lossy rotation or not?

Thanks for your help.

Recipes and Batches?

I'm having some trouble understanding how to batch add a recipe to a seires of images. Mostly I want to batch rotate images 90 or 270 deg by adding a rotation recipe. Is this possible?

Thanks for your help

Preview/Recipe Wierdness

I'm not sure how to describe this. I am using v 1.5.0.7.1 64 bits - I upgraded to the 64 bit version shortly after it became available and then -> 1.5.0.7.0 -> 1.5.7.0.1. I'm using the same database as the 32 bit version did. I uninstalled the 32 bit version as soon as I saw the 64 bit version worki...

Re: Smugmug upload problem

When I upload to Smugmug, the recipe actions are not applied to the source photo. I would have expected the recipes to apply before uploading??

Re: Batch Commands

OK - you're right. I was including the path in the filename to save the image to. I removed the 'save image' batch command, specified a folder in the output folder at the top, and the file was correctly processed and saved into that folder with its original name. Either there is some behaviour that ...

Re: Batch Commands

I've been having trouble with batch saving. I have a save image command (sequence: recipe flattening/resize/save image). In the save image I specify my target folder and i don't import the new photos into the catalogue. I thought the photos were disappearing but they were actually being saved into t...

Re: Batches & Recipes?

I went back and checked again. 1. I have a batch which resizes and image to 1024 on the longest size using lanczos 2. It saves the result to a separate folder, and does not import the results into the catalogue 3. I have two photos in landscape mode. 4. I use the adjustments to rotate 1 to portrait ...

Re: Batches & Recipes?

I notice that there is a recipe option in the batch list - am I required to use that if I want the images pre-processed with its recipe before I apply any other batch actions?

Batches & Recipes?

Hi,

I ran a batch to resize and save some photos down to 1024 longest side. The results did not seem to have the recipes applied to the original.

Thoughts on Sharing

Hi, I'm liking the sharing features. I was trying to figure out the best way to get images into my android 10.1 tablet. I'm thinking the best way to interface with the tablet is through FTP, and simply to run a free ftp server on the tablet for the exchange. Any other thoughts appreciated. I also th...

Re: Keywords - Delimited vs Simple

OK - thanks - I checked the preferences - previously I had just checked the details of the place in the places category. In the sync settings of the preferences there is the option to include parent labels as keywords, and to always use lightroom hierarchical keywords. I think I had assumed that the...
