Re: Combined filtering

Hi Hert, First of all, thanks for the detailed explanations! (PSu has so many subtleties that it is probably hard to master it without some inside knowledge  ) Wow. How am I going to explain this :D First of all your terminology is not completely correct, which had me look in the wrong directi...

Combined filtering

I have a saved filter defined as follows: states (Not Rated) or rated (3,4) If I choose this filter in Favorites, then apply (using the Filter toolbar) a filter based on JPG type, I get the following filter: states (Not Rated) or rated (3,4) filter typed (JPG.) (implicit AND between JPG and the rati...

Re: Private label vs. "Do not create keyword for this label"

Well, I've just tested and it still writes the label inside lr:hierarchicalSubject. I'm not sure, should this be considered a bug or not? I can confirm this. Yes, I would consider this a bug. Please report this in the bugtracker (http://bugs.idimager.com/). BTW: PSu does seem to handle private cate...

Re: batch import that renames files with a sequence number?

Sorry Hert, but that doesn't work for me yet. Using %ImageNumber{length=4;ID=%FileExtension;reset=date}.%FileExtension with 6 files (3 JPG-NEF pairs), I am getting something like this: 0063.JPG 0064.JPG 0065.JPG 0137.NEF 0138.NEF 0139.NEF If I repeat the importing, the image numbers always increase ...

Re: How to search without nested Labels?

Thanks for the tips, Jim - they make sense and I will consider them! ....when you decide to expand the hierarchy, i.e. a leaf label (e.g., Butterfly) gets specialized into some other labels (Monarch, Red-spotted), and therefore becomes an intermediate label. What do you do at this point with all the...

Re: How to search without nested Labels?

Hi Tom, Andrey, I believe I understand what you are trying to do and I have wanted to do the same thing myself. The way that I accomplished this was to change my label structure to make sure that every image in the parent group has a child label assigned to it and then I don't assign the parent labe...

Re: Questions about parent labels and keywords

When you add a catalog label to the Dynamic Search then it's marked as hierarchical, meaning that it will include the label and all of it's children. So if you add LabelA and ChildLabelB to a Dynamic search that means that LabelA is hierarchical and will also return all in lower labels. So the tric...

Re: Questions about parent labels and keywords

5.1) Let's say I have a label A and a child label B under it, with B having "Also assign its parents" enabled. If I choose an image with labels A and B and unassign label B, then label A is still assigned. (The unassignment DOES NOT propagate.) Is this expected? 5.2) Again, let's say I have a label ...

Questions about parent labels and keywords

I have a couple of related questions, please: 1) Let's say I have a label A and a child label B under it. ("Also assign its parents" options are left disabled.) Now, let's say that I assign label B to one or more images. If I add labels A and B to Dynamic search and run a search with B excluding A, ...

Re: Private label vs. "Do not create keyword for this label"

"This Label is Private" will not write the catalog label to the file, anywhere Well, I've just tested and it still writes the label inside lr:hierarchicalSubject . I'm not sure, should this be considered a bug or not? "Do not generate keywords" will not write that catalog label as a keyword, but is...

Private label vs. "Do not create keyword for this label"

Could someone please summarize the difference between the two options in the drop-down menu for Catalog label details -> Metadata settings? (There is only one tip for the drop-down menu - and it seems to imply that "No Keywords" and private labels are pretty much the same thing.) Am I correct that P...

Re: Out-of-sync questions

Oddly, I noticed that all my OOS files appeared under an incorrect date (1899-12-30) in Catalog -> By date. Syncing them (with Save Metadata ) fixed the issue. But I'm not sure why the issue appeared in the first place, since I haven't touched those files at all outside PSU.

Re: Import Sessions and NEF files

This is to be expected. Versions are below the main version. And the main version (in your case the JPG) will be visible. Ok - I just didn't expect this would be different in other views. Tip; to see all files (NEFs included) 1. Select all thumbs (Ctrl+A or Cmd+A) 2. Press Ctrl+Alt+V or Cmd+Opt+V t...

Import Sessions and NEF files

I've just noticed that my Import Sessions tree (in the Catalog -> By Category view) contains only JPG and AVI files, although I also imported NEF files - and I can see them in the catalog if I select some other views. (N.B.: all the NEF files were correctly detected as versions of the JPG files duri...

Out-of-sync questions

Hello, I haven't created or applied any labels yet. Yet, I have over 1000 NEF files marked as out-of-sync (although no JPG is OOS), for no obvious reason. (Could it be because I removed from the catalog a duplicated folder tree containg JPG and NEF file copies, so the detected version sets might hav...
