Re: Using versions

When I drag and drop one image onto another in order to create a version set, the following dialog appears drag and drop version.JPG Why the check box option at the bottom "always add as a version?" Isn't that what I just did? Is there a reason not to enable this option? I agree the wording is conf...

Re: displaying version sets

What determines which of several versioned images is displayed. In most views, only the main version is displayed. In the Folders view (which you probably use), you will see all versions that physically reside in the browsed folder. Sometimes it is #1 and in other cases it is the last one of the se...

Re: Copyright info missing after import

It's possible to define scientific names as label synonyms (see the Synonyms field inside the label property labels) and have them written as keywords (see Tools | Preferences | Synchronize | Write settings | "Store keywords as synonyms too" ), but the keywords in the image metadata will also includ...

Re: Capture One Pro 9 with Photo Supreme Workflow

That is a problem for PSu. For it to be more widely adopted it needs to play nicely with as many other products as possible: Photoshop, Lightroom, Capture One, DxO, PhotoNinja ... That's a reasonable perspective, but let me suggest a hypothesis: it could well be the case that certain quircks associ...

Re: Capture One Pro 9 with Photo Supreme Workflow

I don't understand how Hert (or anyone else) could (legitimately) raise issues with C1 (or any other party) that he hasn't personally experienced/tested/validated. (Moreover, the reported issues do not appear to affect PSU's development, do they?) Just my 2 cents - and I sincerely hope they don't st...

Re: questions about PSU geocoding

The current design [of the Details panel] seems to me the only sane design. Perhaps a button could be added to ...to trigger ... displaying of common metadata on demand? Would be nice but if what you say about resource use that button would be a trigger ready for disaster. You hit it when thousands...

Re: unusually fast synching?

Btw: you can't (easily) undo a label merge even if auto-syncing is off. You still need to exercise caution, no matter what.

Re: unusually fast synching?

Frank, You explained very well your reasoning and I concur with many considerations, but I'm still not sure I buy your conclusion: I generally have experienced auto-sync to be very safe. During routine operations only few files are synced. But I am careful not to enable it, when I know, as a consequ...

Re: Upgrade Desktop -> Server Edition

No, looking at the pricing schema, I was surprised to see that the server edition was slightly more than twice as expensive as the standalone (US $199 vs. $99). That is a big difference! As far as I know, the program functionality is basically the same and the benefits that the server edition adds ...

Re: questions about PSU geocoding

The way this is implemented right now is essentially analogous to Details not showing any information when several thumbs are selected. There have been quite a few discussions about displaying the data shared among different photos in the Details panel. Hert's argument was always it would decrease ...

Re: GEO tagging issues

No, I was simply referring to the fields filled in by the Geo-Panel, a considerably smaller subset than all available fields related to geography... Then, I don't know what you're still missing: So, what is now missing is still the fields being filled in automatically by applying the label. It is s...

Re: questions about PSU geocoding

Thanks for clarifying. BTW - it seems geocoding, unlike labeling, applies only to the selected image out of a version set. Is that by design? I would think images that belong to the same version set would all be from the same locality, or not? So would I. There's a Mantis request for that at http:/...
